It's funny he worked for a contractor for American with their new paint. The first were probably RJs flown by others as a test. It was a neat pearl white that while beautiful proved impossible to touch up. So when it came to mainline aircraft they ditched the pearl. Or maybe they didn't but either way it was a fail and maybe his exit but American is now just a plain white..
The WN repaint schedule was actually six years as explained with the new livery but with current problems eight will do. The contractor they use in Spokane apparently doesn't do very well removing the stripper or get them dry enough around rivets as they lose paint around them in four to six months or so. Paint then starts peeling from there. It's a losing battle unless the contractor he manages can strip and repaint to match the lifespan of new Boeing aircraft. Spokane is obviously more humid than Victorville so the same process isn't working.
