Just made a call to customer relations. They are aware and confirmed these were sent out in error to a large number of members and they will not be honoring the status indicated in the emails.

At least we know WN is continuing its legacy of terrible IT systems :-)

Add me to the list of people that just got an A-list email despite being well short of re qualifying.

Ouch

Well, I got the A-List email and was only a couple of flights short, so I thought maybe they were bumping long time status folks over the line or something. Too bad, just a glitch.

Great example of how to make a "meh" opinion into a "gosh, you suck" opinion in just 30 seconds.

I would agree. I was just about to book some flights with my new companion pass for two trips we were considering. They just got put on hold with a bad taste in my mouth.

In same situation as OP (job relocation and switching over to UA). Briefly had hopes of a soft landing from A+ and CP, but fear it's too good to be true. Oh well, nothing lost (since I was not entitled to it anyway)!

The website was being a bit flaky very early this morning (flight options not showing up). Wonder if this is related.

I had CP last year and just received the email as well. So it looks as though the e-mails were sent out based on last years status.

High Comedy! Got them both too!

After 0 revenue flights and 1 use of the CP in 2016, I've dropped from AL+ from the first time it was created and CP probably since 2002. How the mighty have fallen...

I got both AL Preferred and CP emails. I was only 55K TQP short and maybe 80K CP points short...

if they really comped me both I would spend big this year. I usually buy BS

Maybe a better response from WN would be something like...

"Oops, we messed up (again) and apologize for the erroneous status emails that were sent to our loyal members. Here's 500 TQPs as a gesture of goodwill for the confusion and to get you on your way to your desired status in 2017. See you on board in 2017!"

Yup, that would be, but it won't come.

It's clear they already know they sent out the emails by mistake. Why so long to send out an apology or correction?

Also got the companion pass email. Can't say getting it in error surprises me.
