I do not understand this error message regarding TTFs

I have cancelled and rebooked a couple of times on PNR X8B*** to have the difference in fare put in my TTF "bank" for future use. On the travel flight funds available screen it says that this PNR has $151.40 available expiring 10/31/11.

So I go in to book a new flight and it asks if I have any TTF. I click yes and fill out the confirmation number and passenger name. Up pops the stuff below, showing the following amounts, which add up to the $151.40.

However, at the bottom of the screen and in red is "Please remove one of the other Payment types in order to use a credit card." What does this mean? I cannot get it to go away until I remove exactly three of the six entries with the confirmation number and amount next to it. Why does it do this? What am I doing wrong? Why do I have to remove exactly three of these to get it to go away in order to get any credit applied?

You have hit the limit of 4 sources of funds other than unused tickets.

Here's the solution. Book a dummy reservation for a fare of $100 or so, completely using 3 of the sources and partially using a 4th source. Cancel that dummy reservation.

Apply the funds from the dummy reservation, which is now an unused ticket and subject to the separate limit of 2 unused tickets. You may now add 4 more sources of payment. Add the leftover funds from the 4th source, the 5th and 6th sources, and your credit card if needed.

if the trip is a round trip, break it down to 2 separate one-ways. use 3 ttf on one, 3 ttf on the other, viola! done!

I don't want to do the round trip thing because I am looking to use an award for one way and pay for the other.

This is quite crazy to have a 4 item limit when booking new tickets constantly causes the funds to get broken up into smaller and smaller chunks!

Thanks for the advice to combine the items, but I had about $70 and I don't think there are many flights cheaper than that on a regular basis, so I will probably have to forgo the $2.50 they wouldn't let me use! (A small price to pay for all we get out of SouthWest.)
