Travel through FLL
Getting off a cruise in FLL but over 5 hours until flight. As will be at airport very early, and with a 5 year old, was looking at CHildren's play area. I see one in Terminal 1, but our flight is in T3, so that means going through Security again. It looks like we can travel from 3 to 4 without redoing security? But - I see there is a play area there, but I am finding no info about it, unlike hte one in T1 which gets lots of attention. Anyone with info on that play area? Or ideas on how to spend the time with a 5 year old and carryon bags?

Be aware that FLL does not allow people to check in baggage more than 4 hours before flights. Then some airlines have shorter limits of 2-3 hrs so after you check in you probably won’t have time to go between terminals.

Asking AI, and they "tell" me that there is NO Children's Play Area in Terminal 4. But then when I ask where it is, they tell me there IS a CHildren's Play area in T4, but then goes on to say it has no info about where it is or what's in there. T1 has a relatively New play area that they make a big deal about. But to get from 1 to 3, going through Security again, on a day with 7 ships in Port, will not be welcomed.

What airlines are you flying on? I don't think they let you go through T1 security. If you are flying out T3 security. You have processed to T3 security checkpoint. If you have a valid boarding pass. Probably they won't let you checked bags more than 4 hours before departure flight. You have take Uber or Lyft to go out a lunch in downtown Ft. Lauderdale. If the weather is good or not. Depends if you have enough time. You can go to Museum of Science in downtown Ft. Lauderdale.

N830MH is correct - there is an Escape Lounge near the E concourse of T3, but they do not accept Priority Pass. You need to either have an Amex Platinum, or a Delta SkyMiles Reserve Amex
Looks like you learn something new every day.-J.

(Different regulations apply if your JetBlue destination is in a foreign country.)

While I can't remember specifically if it was FLL, I think I know the play area that you might be referring to (many airports have them). A five year old will be bored of this play area in less than half an hour, it is more geared towards toddlers.
Best advice: take your time getting off that ship. Wait for them to kick you off. Take an Uber to a playground in Dania Beach, minutes from the airport. Enjoy the typically beautiful Florida weather this time of year.

I am going through FLL (hopefully - i.e., not through PBI) later this week. If I have time I will try to find a play area in Terminal 3 or 4.
guv1976 has the best suggestion so far - if there are other flights on other airlines and the fares are reasonable, book one of those and request a refund from JetBlue. FLL is not a nice airport to be stuck in for hours on end.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes - will def take time getting off ship - but that's still no later than 10. There are no other airlines that fly direct from FLL. As for uber to a playground - will have luggage - only carryons, but still involves suitcases. But that's a maybe - is there some kind of special playground in Dania beach?
As for the lounge, I have Amex Platinum - but it's my kids & grandkid who will be making the flight, and they don't.
