With no opening actually planned, there’s no FT Do planned, either. It’s already something like a year behind schedule and there’s no info beyond a vague “this fall” on when it will go into operation.

The new terminal will have a Delta lounge, a United lounge, and an independent lounge. The latter will be The Club at MSY, but post 98 says it will be delayed and not open when the terminal does.
For public transit, I assume Jefferson Transit will continue to serve the airport via Airline Hwy, though it would be a longer ride with the new terminal location. I haven't seen whether NORTA plans to continue their 202 service, which was introduced to serve workers constructing the new terminal. Uber and Lyft will lose their dedicated space in the garage and will move to curbside. Taxis and shuttles should be the same. And yeah, the rental car center will be a schlep.

The terminal was issued a certificate of occupancy last week, so it is no longer a construction project. The Oct. 23rd date has indeed been pushed back due to the roadwork at the intersection of Veterans and the new airport access road not being completed in time. This roadwork is related to the AT&T telecommunications vault that had to buried. AT&T has completed that work, but grading, paving, and striping the roadway would not be done by next Wednesday. New target date is November 6th.

The airport is hosting a couple of open houses this week for anyone wanting to check it out. I can't make them, but would be interested to hear from anyone who does attend.

We drove out to there this weekend to scope out the access road to the new terminal because of flights coming up soon. I have real concerns about the Loyola interchange at I-10 and the intersection of Loyola and Veterans Blvd (where the actual access road begins). The potential for traffic tie ups is a great possibility. After seeing it, I’m trying to decide my strategy for going out there for the time being, which won’t involve driving myself.
Workers were landscaping the area along the access road this weekend.
