Myrtle Beach in the fall
I have a possible trip to Myrtle Beach in mid-September or October. I know September and October are in the hurricane season, but how iffy is this time period?

September is definitely the peak of hurricane season. October less so, especially late October.
Of course, trying to predict hurricanes is nearly impossible.......
I do like the weather on SC coast that time of year -- usually not so hot. And the ocean is generally swimmable until early October (longer if you are tolerant of cooler waters)

That's definitely right in the middle of hurricane season. Also, beautiful weather and a perfect time to go. We don't get them that often so I wouldn't worry about it.

October would be one of the drier months and a Yankee shouldn't be bothered at all by the water or air temperatures.
