Myrtle Beach in the fall
I have a possible trip to Myrtle Beach in mid-September or October. I know September and October are in the hurricane season, but how iffy is this time period?
|
September is definitely the peak of hurricane season. October less so, especially late October.
Of course, trying to predict hurricanes is nearly impossible....... I do like the weather on SC coast that time of year -- usually not so hot. And the ocean is generally swimmable until early October (longer if you are tolerant of cooler waters) |
That's definitely right in the middle of hurricane season. Also, beautiful weather and a perfect time to go. We don't get them that often so I wouldn't worry about it.
|
October would be one of the drier months and a Yankee shouldn't be bothered at all by the water or air temperatures.

Thanks for the responses. My trip has been scheduled for late September, and I expect to enjoy it.
