Last year, there was a new lounge at SEZ, but KE Premium-class pax were NOT able to use it, not sure if that changed since.

Overall, while certainly better than Y, I'm not sure I'd spend twice the miles on these flights.
Do you mean KQ (Kenya Air) or AF (Air France) since I didn't realize Korean (KE) has flights to SEZ.

And for those of you who have completed your trips, can you tell us about Kenya Airways and Air Seychelles service on any of these flights? I have CDG-SEZ in J class booked, but am not expecting much (although AF isnt that great either besides their comfortable, lie-flat seat)
NW intra-Africa award is 25K in Y and 50K in J http://www.nwa.com/worldperks/direct...s/africa.shtml

No experience with HM.

For KQ longhaul, 777 seats are very good, much better than KL IMO, but the IFE is a bit of a letdown. Soft product is OK but nothing to write home about. No experience with their 767 but understand that it's an older seat. For NBO-SEZ, seating is similar to domestic first on US carriers. There's no lounge access at SEZ for KQ J pax. If you're flying HM from SEZ, their new lounge seemed quite nice looking (I only got to peek inside).

Shocking that DL intra-Africa is 60k and NW is only 25k!!! I wish I had more points in my NW WP account!

My bad - I meant KQ. I have KE on my mind, since I'll be flying them in a few weeks...

Sounds like you need to apply for a NW Visa card then. The current promo offers 25K miles after you spend $500.

I had paper tickets issued for me too which is a huge pain if you change something before travel because you have to go to the airport for them. I thought that paper tickets were a thing of the past?! I also cannot make any DL seat assignments online for some reason. It keeps kicking out my choices. I did go on to AF's web site to make seat assignments for the AF (even HM flight) flights though. Weird DL doesnt recognize my requests for seats, but AF does!

I just received a call that my paper tickets were canceled because DL no longer cooperates with HM because they require paper tickets. They rebooked me luckily (after my prompting) on KQ, but it's a pain. And, they noted that the web site still allows you to book the HM codeshare, but that since May, DL no longer cooperates with them until they offer e-ticketing and you run the risk of being denied boarding by HM. Theyre working on this issue on delta.com, but unfortunately, I got hit with tons of extra nonrefundable hotels now that the dates/flights have changed due to using KQ instead of HM four days before my trip

It could be worse. CO requires 80K!

Sorry to hear that. Thanks for the heads up.

On a positive note, KQ award availability is now on nwa.com along with some other carriers which didn't show before ^

I recently did CDG-NBO-SEZ on KQ, and when I was in CDG, they had to issue me a paper ticket. It took several agents to figure this out, but was nice because I didn't have to keep track of the paper ticket until they gave it to me at the airport.

I just called Delta and they said my AF codeshare with Air Seychelles appears to be ok. I then reiterated I have a paper ticket, and again they said they did not have any problem with paper tickets on that flight, but if there is a problem when I check in they would "handle it" then.

Is there someone or a particular group you spoke with?

This is because you booked prior to the May date when DL created this rule.

Interesting...were you on a DL-issued ticket that included KQ?? Or were you originally booked on HM? I hope this doesnt happen to me. My ticket includes DL, KQ, KL, and NW!!!

I was on a NW issued ticket. For some reason, I could not redeem on the AF/HM flight with NW. My ticket included segments on AF, KQ, KL, and CO.

I flew these flights using FB miles on the codeshare flight nonstop CDG-SEZ operated by HM. Paper ticktets issued. The SEZ are beautiful but don't know if the 12 hour flight on the HM 767 is worth it. Return flight is a day flight to make matters worse. They are upgrading to a new Boeing 787 dreamliner in 2010. I'd wait until then if I could.
