which FF # to use
I'm a Gold member with NW, but also have a FF account with Delta (no status).
I just booked a flight to San Juan with Delta, and gave them my Delta FF#, now I'm wondering if I should have given them my NW account. If I did would the miles have been credit to my NW account? Would I have been eligable for upgrades?
Any thoughts on this are appreciated.

Call them back and switch it with your NW FF# there is no need to
collect miles on multiple FF accounts.. would be much easier to use only NW
in your case.
When you call, make sure you tell them to
1. remove your delta FF number from your reservation
2. then add your NW FF number to your reservation.
and make sure when you check in.. they have your NW FF number
on the boarding pass.
- dont count on any upgrades on DL.

Ouch.. that gets tricky. If you happen to be in that situation..
call delta and see if they can do it..
if not, call NW and explain the situation.. (let them put a note on your account)
then call delta again.. tell them to delete those miles from your account and
post a confirmation on your account, or mail you a letter..
now send that letter and the boarding pass stub to NW for the credit.
Provided you do it within the allowed time frame, and confirm this with
NW prior to taking any other action, you might be able to do it.
I always had this issue with DL in the past. They would not let me put CO#
automatically.. and somehow my DL number will appear on my
reservations when i check in.. but the above two things worked well for me..
I've generally done this within a week or two of my flights.

I happened to tell them the DL number showed up on BP (its true)
without my request. It was a mess.. but I did get them moved.

Getting them moved is most likely a losing battle, but if you are very dilligent you may be able to pull it off. I wouldn't go through the effort if you don't need the miles for elite status.
One thing noted above is that you have to get them to remove the DL number from your PNR. If you have both numbers the DL one will still show and be the credited account. I've had this happen before (but noticed before boarding and got it resolved).
As for upgrades, DL will not upgrade a NW elite based solely on status.
