plenty depends on the program. There is no general answer to this question. I guess no program will give full miles on all fare classes with all partners. Pick and choose what suits you best.

But is there any absolutely ridiculous rule like AA members not earning on any BA transatlantic flights regardless of class?

With a CO flight on a KLAF program, you can bypass the 50% mileage deduction thing, but not with delta I think...
I was on a Q 50% mileage it said on CO websites but got 100% when it posted...

There are no absolutely ridiculous rules such as this one, but plenty of mostly ridiculous rules for other things.

In general, a paid J ticket will earn 150% mileage and full Y will earn 100%. Where it gets strange is on the discounted fares.

CO will only give 50% credit for discounted NW & DL operated flights. They give 100% for KL operated flights in the same exact fare bucket/price as the NW ones. That is just one example, but there are many.

KLAF FB gets 100% EQMs on all CO and DL revenue booking classes. But FB will only get 25% on KL V-class, whereas WP gets 100%. You can play this game back and forth with all the programs. I am not aware of anything like the AA/BA system. The upshot is, there is usually one program which will give you 100% on almost all flights in your flight pattern. Make sure you know which airline and booking classes you fly most and then check the individual FFPs.

Yeah it all depends, with NW you earn on all airlines with a few exceptions like R class on Altalia, N class on Korean....however sometimes it's not at a 100% for earning miles nor for 100% of elite qual miles....but from NW no wholesale no miles for these routes like the BA/AA thing....

No wierd rules in the way you mean. As stated already, super discounted economy fares (the lowest ones) don't earn full miles or EQMs in all programs but most "normal" economy fares are OK in all programs. You'd be best off going to one of the websites of the airlines involved and looking at the mileage earning rules. Or checking out the stickies in some of the forums like Flying Blue or Delta (links to The Definitive How To Earn Delta Air Lines SkyMiles Thread). Other than the exceptions noted above, all SkyTeam flights earn elite qualifying miles in all programs as far as I know.
