So you think you know how SkyTeam works??? Try this!

Just when I think I’ve got this trip ‘flowin all smooth, something tricks it up !
See what you can do with my puzzle pieces:

6 months, RTW, economy class, Homebase: USA (MSP, ORD or LAX)
Depart Jan 2006, and let’s say 2 weeks in each place.

I’ve gone thru OneWorld, (LONE4) Sky Team and Star Alliance. (both 39,000 miles) They all have their merits, but nothing makes me happy.
Can you? (grin)

Does anyone have EMAIL addresses of reps to help with this? I’m limited in cell minutes, and some desks are closed weekends.

I’ll give you the airports of the places we have in mind. The *star* ones are places we really don’t want to miss. Others are they for the transfers, I guess.

Leg 1: South Pacific
HNL or OGG
PPT
*NAN*
*RAR*
ROR (or is that SEA?)

Leg 2: NZ
AKL
CHC

Leg 3: Australia
SYD
BNE
CNS
DRW
*PER* (whale sharks – wahoo!)

Leg 4: SE Asia
BKK or UTP
*DPS*
CGK
*HAN*
SGN
*SIN*
*ROR* (or is this S. Pacific?)

Leg 5: Middle East (more of a week stop to get to Europe)
DXB
CCU, DEL or BOM
*IST*

Leg 6: Europe
*ATH* or SKG
BCN
MAD
ZRH
ORK
DUB

I borrowed this from a thread below. It links to a fare that will actually get you a lot of your destinations-- subject to milelage, and schedules-- By the way ROR is South Pacific.

You're not going to be able to put together all those Australia/NZ flights on SkyTeam. The only way to get there on SkyTeam is on Korean or possibly an Air France flight (or the one CO flight GUM-CNS), and none of those are domestic. You're probably best using Qantas on oneWorld or Air NZ on *Alliance to put that together if you want all those cities in Australia/NZ.

No way!

It doesn't make sense for you to fly Skyteam on such an itin. Even if you buy the intra-Oceania flights separately, you will still have to go through ICN for the flights within Asia.
Won't be able to go to DPS, either, at least not until MH joins.
You really need to try Star.

I believe that CO serves DPS from GUM (maybe on the way from ROR you could do it???)
