Similarly, Alitalia Club Ulisse members (ST Elite) like me get access to Alitalia lounges. I think of the SkyTeam benefits as the core benefits that I expect anywhere in the alliance, and then the individual benefits that each carrier attaches to its own status as something entirely separate.

I mean, DL FO and GM are both ST Elite, even though they are different tiers in SM.

Don't you get access only to Ulisse Clubs? It is my understanding that AZ has other clubs for Elite Plus members.

Incidentally, if you ever fly out of TLV on AZ or AF, be certain to ask for your VIP Lounge pass when checking in. It is given to Ulisse, AF Bleu, and Delta Gold Medallion members.

I can't see how they can possibly refuse entry!
Even easier - why not buy a CRC membership and get in whenever you want? Or buy a Priority Pass membership and get into most airline's lounges and many others all over the world?

AFAIK, a CRC membership doesn't get you in non-DL Skyteam lounges so it clearly is of limited benefit for someone who occasionally flies within the US. OTOH, priority pass is a lot more useful BUT a top-tier FF shouldn't have to shell out even more money just to get into a bloody lounge!!!

They seem mostly to be in the process of abolishing that distinction. In fact, even where the distinction does exist, I think that it's only Freccia Alata members that can use the facilities - not other ST elites. It might only be Fiumicino that has a separate FA lounge now. There are certainly no differentiated facilities airside at MXP.
