VN ticketed, codeshare with AF
My wife has some VN ticketed flights, of which the first leg is in business operated by AF from CDG as a codeshare with a VN flight number. Unsurprisingly the Vietnam Airlines web site won't let us reserve seats nor meals for that AF codeshare flight. More surprising that with her AF FB number registered in the VN booking, the AF website still doesn't recognise the booking nor VN PNR nor ticket number.
Do i need to get the AF PNR, and being cheeky can i call the PSL as FB gold to get it? Or do i need to call the VN CSL?

This has been discussed many times in the AF forum. You won't be able to select a seat before check-in. Don't loose time trying to obtain other airline booking ref. No one has succeed.

Thanks, i'm sorry i missed that before, i'll try again. Is this "lack of co-operation" a VN thing or something from the AF side?
While seat selection is not really important, is there a way to get a special diet meal selected? (My wife is quite allergic to all fish and seafood and needs to be completely avoided).
Seems that those meals could be selected at online checkin at 30 hours until the 24 hour deadline? Although if other reports i've seen that online check is not available are to be believed, then what's the best course of action to select a special meal?

That isn't true - at least one person has succeeded- Last year I flew on the VN codeshare on Air France SGN-CDG in Premium Economy and was able to get the Air France booking reference and getting an Air France agent to select a seat for me. The one thing I was never able to manage was to purchase in flight internet on the Air France flight
