SkyTeam app
I have not used this as yet - there is a specific app for iPad that needs improvement - but noticed this on Twitter:
"We are proud to announce that SKYTEAM has launched its iPhone app! This new app will give you access to comprehensive SkyTeam Member flight schedules, provide online access to flight status, locate the nearest airport and give weather updates. It can be downloaded from your iTunes Store."

As for the SkyTeam App, it displays the same incorrect information on which carousel has my bag as the DTW screens. For local weather, I just use Weatherbug or Weather Channel. It does display flights schedules, but that's kind of wonky as well.
Both apps are in serious need of a refresh by someone who actually flys and needs useful input as a traveller. Until then, they aren't going to cut it as a single-source location for all things.
Just my 2 pennies, though.
