Sixt? Going hyper-expensive?
I am new to the forums so please forgive any mistakes.
Last year we had a terrific experience with Sixt. We rented an X3 through the holiday cars for about $1,000. This program included the LDW. Great customer service & perfect vehicle. Everyone was very friendly & we had absolutely no complaints.
This year, we have four people, a need for extra space & all-wheel drive. It would be tight in an X3, so we tried an X5. We cannot get the holiday cars website to work. We always get the same response- There is no rate sheet available for this period. Sixt customer service can't get it to work either.
Even with a destination coupons discount, Sixt pricing is almost 1.5 times as much for the X3 this year at $2,150!!!!! (this does include all the coverage available, winter tires & four more days) This is about $55 a day MORE for the same vehicle.
Pricing for the X5 is right at $3,000!!! That's over $230.00 a day. Of course, the exchange rate is LOWER this year by .25/dollar, which means they're charging much more.
We really want to be repeat customers, but with prices this high, it's beyond reality. Has anyone had any luck with the Holiday Car program this year?

I needed a car in Germany for next week and tried Holiday Cars but had the same problem you had, "There is no rate sheet available for this period." Seems I'm not the only one.
In the end I did book through regular Sixt but I indeed did pay a surcharge.
Maybe Gary or one of his colleagues can look into the issue on Monday. They have always been super helpful for me.

Many, many thanks to Adam Wilkes, Lee Cousins & everyone at Sixt. I was informed the Holiday Cars program has ended & Sixt should really let people know that via their main website. It was very popular. That said, Adam & Lee have been extraordinary; in fact, profoundly good with their communications and willingness to assist us. Although we could not get the prices we expected, Sixt should REALLY be proud of employees like this. Adam was VERY quick to respond to multiple emails and a wonderful willingness to assist, a level of service quite higher than we've seen anywhere (especially in comparison to other car rental agencies). Wow. What amazing people. This is how you get return customers for life.

But I totally agree, a notice that the program is unavailable would be decent. Everything less looks like the reservation system is broken and nobody noticed, which does not instill confidence in me as a customer.
