Least offensive LCC? (BKK-SIN)
We have to get from BKK to SIN, and it looks like our LCC options are JetStar, Air Asia and Tiger. Does anyone have experience with any of these? Who is the least offensive. On time/Not Canceled.
They all look like they nickle and dime the same amount, but still end up cheaper compared to TG or CX.
There's also the possibility we would have an extra bag, does anyone know if they carriers allow or what they charge for a 2nd bag?

Air Asia is Best
Jetstar is second
Used both many times.
Both use changi terminal 1 in SIN with jetways
Tiger goes to budget terminal with stairs (though the terminal isn't that bad). Used them once.
All 3 let you prepay bag allowance when booking - do that it is a good deal. Air Asia prepaid meals are okay too.
All 3 use new a320. Quite honestly I don't think they are bad at all.

Air Asia anytime. The Southwest Airline of Asia. My tip is pay the $7.00 for a reserved seat up front. PAy for your bag up front also saves time at the airport.

I was delayed for 4 hours once on Jetstar SIN-BKK, and I've heard too many Tiger airways complaints to ever consider them. Plus Tiger flies from the Budget Terminal, so all these considered, AirAsia comes out tops.

Tiger is not that bad, I have never had any bad experiences with them.
Out of the three mentioned, I would also suggest going for Air Asia, but when having the choice between Tiger and Jetstar, definitely Tiger!
Might be bad luck, but opposed to no bad experiences with Tiger, my Jetstar flights didn't turn out that well... (delays)

One more vote for Air Asia - and pre-pay for a comfortable baggage allowance (20KG is more than sufficient for me, and generally quite economical when bought in advance)
In my experience, Jet Star is OK, Air Asia is better than OK. Never flew Tiger. But Lion is below average - perhaps the best advice is to avoid airlines named after big predatory cats.

My experiences with Tiger Airways:
1. I was among the thousands of TR passengers stranded when Yellow Shirts closed BKK airport Dec 2009. Tiger abandoned all of its passengers. All Tiger did was to offer "full refunds" and "advised" their stranded passengers to seek free hotel accommodation from the Tourism of Thailand. Thai Air Asia's aircraft were inoperable, caught in the BKK airport siege. Only Jetstar launched rescue flights into Utapao airport (Pattaya) to get their stranded passengers out. I will never forget the good deed from Jetstar. (Tiger is the typical fairweather friend.)
2. Tiger cancelled several flights out of Singapore when they had some problems with their pilots in 2010. I was waiting in line at the budget terminal waiting to check-in when the announcement of cancellation was made. Tigers offered me a full refund as their "gesture of goodwill". Yuh, right!
3. I paid US$10 to TR for my 9 Kg check-in bag since it exceeded the 7Kg allowed for carry-ons at Clark airport (Philippines). On arrival SIN airport I found the zipper of the bag damaged. TR gave me a form to complete and mail-in. A photo of the damaged bag had to be submitted with the claim form. After waiting 4 weeks and several calls, TR denied my claim for S$49 (US$26).
