Can teenagers (other than the adults aged nineteen and eighteen) fly unescorted on SQ?

SQ website is unhelpful:

Many airlines allow 17 year olds to travel as UMs. But no other airline specifically requires 17 year olds to travel as UMs: most airlines allow 12 year olds to travel unescorted unless the parents specifically asks for UM service, a few require children to be 15 year old to fly alone, even fewer have different ages like 13 or 14, and Virgin is alone in requiring age of 16 to travel alone.

Sqtalk has some posts which suggest that Singapore is actually unusual in requiring people to be 18 to travel unescorted:

I think it applies for those under 17. I know this because I personally experienced it myself on a random occassion. It was really annoying since it was the first time the agent insisted I was a UM.

Back in the '90s I had 8 flights on SQ where I traveled alone without any special assistance when I was aged 15 and 16. Never felt the need for it and was never questioned by anyone at checkin.
