Unaccompanied teens on SQ

Can teenagers (other than the adults aged nineteen and eighteen) fly unescorted on SQ?

SQ website is unhelpful:

http://www.singaporeair.com/saa/en_U...ecialneeds.jsp

says
This service is accorded to our young customers between the ages of 5 and under 17 years when they travel without their parents or guardians aged 18 years and above.
Many airlines allow 17 year olds to travel as UMs. But no other airline specifically requires 17 year olds to travel as UMs: most airlines allow 12 year olds to travel unescorted unless the parents specifically asks for UM service, a few require children to be 15 year old to fly alone, even fewer have different ages like 13 or 14, and Virgin is alone in requiring age of 16 to travel alone.

Sqtalk has some posts which suggest that Singapore is actually unusual in requiring people to be 18 to travel unescorted:

says

when I was 17 years and 10 months old having travelled unescorted for a couple of years only to have the lady checking me in insist that I have to be 18 to travel unaccompanied!
but another post states

but it is actually SQ's policy to insist that children under the age of 16 travel as unaccompanied minors
So... what are the official required ages for teens to travel unescorted on SQ? Does anyone here know for certain?
