Sorry to hear that. The airline makes regular updates to its menu offerings. Once a quarter or half-year, I'm not sure. But your post shows that this thread has been put to good use!

You're back from your turnaround flight! I hope you had no problems with your luggage or the immigration. :)

Yes! Mileage posted fast! SINDPS was in my a/c when I got home after the trip. DPSSIN came in at night.

Didn't go through Indonesian customs at all. No issues at SIN side too.

SQ142 was late due to weather, on arrival groundstaff was looking for me thinking that my return date was wrong. :D But I was told them the reason and they brought me out and into the boarding area. And they were very nice about it all the time and sincere about the whole thing. Didn't miss my flight though it was late leaving DPS and late arriving into SIN.

Oh, on the return journey, 2 stewardesses recognised me and were surprised to see me onboard again. Didn't have the opportunity to tell them as they were so busy once the doors were closed.

But it was a fun and fast turnaround!

Wow, looks like SQ has reinstated handing out of menus for short-haul flights in economy class.

Yep, milleage credit is almost instantaneous (almost when the flight lands!). My miles are always in the moment I log in to the Net from my hotel.

Did you have the good fortune of being served by these 2 FAs again? From what I know, the FAs swop cabins on return flights (eg. outbound, Y Class, but inbound, J Class). At least this is true for long-haul.

Good for you. I don't foresee myself doing this anytime soon, not when I'm in this job with this pay. :D

On short haul SQ turnarounds (various routes) I've always gotten the same crew both ways - ie they serve the same cabin both ways.

No, it hasn't. However, if you politely request to be given one, the FAs would be happy to oblige. That said, they carry only a limited number of menus on each flight.

Oh no. The stewardess told me that they didn't hand out menus but were asking pax what was their choice, but I could keep their copy :) which I promptly did. Else, no way to post here :D

Unfortunately, no. They were serving in their cabins as in the 772 was split into 2 sections for Y. But I moved up from 52 to 31 on my return flight. Same crew but different Singapore Girls serving. But you know they run around the whole plane, so they saw me when they were moving around the plane.

Come on Loony. I wasn't flying J! I'm a Y guy! Wanted status for next year, so I decided to fly. In Y of course.

I got really irritated on my short Bangkok trip two months back. I remember the male FA asked if I wanted chicken or pork. I chose pork, as I had just had chicken earlier that day. But when the food came, it turned out to be pork served in curry, which I had been wanting to avoid (health reasons). Well, I couldn't blame the FA, as the menus didn't get handed out, right? What seethed me was that subsequently, I heard other FAs being very specific when they asked other passengers for their choices, "Ma'am, would you like stir-fried chicken or pork in curry?" Maybe girls are more attentive!

Yup. One FA who had served me in Y on SQ20 recognised me when she "ran around the plane" on SQ19 three days later (she was in J then). Having said that, even someone I chatted with on that same return flight recognised me three months later on a different trip. These folks have photographic memories. :D

I'm too poor to even buy a Y turnaround ticket just to accrue miles. :( I'm only 1,500 miles short of Elite Gold, but have to wait till a kind sponsor brings me on an overseas trip. The next invited event on my calender is only in February/March.

Ah yes, girls are usually more meticulous about things. Guys, well, er... HAHA.. not going to continue. Did you manage to switch your choice then? If for health reasons, that's a good enough reason.

 they do? Then I'll have to see if I manage to get them on my 4 flights within the next month. Hehehe ;)

I'll be in that situation next year if no major flying is going to be done. Need long haul flights!

Loony, you can do a DPS turnaround too! There are ways to get slightly cheaper tix though. PM me if you like to know. The trip on SQ website is $451. Come on Loony!
