What are the hours of operation?
Not sure about hours of operation, but it's not in the same area as the SKL. You have to take the train, unless you want to take a very long walk.

I am not sure the exact opening hours but it open for more than just the VS departure as it is also used by Evergreen.

Although it is a long way I think it is worth the walk up there it is so much nicer than the SKL.

I have 31/2 hours layover. Is it a longer walk than from Terminal 1 UA Depature Are in SIN to Terminal 2 SKL ?
I walk that distance everytime I am taking UA srom SIN. Takes me 10 mins to cover the distance.

I checked the Airline Lounge Info on HKG Airport site. Virgin Club House is open for BR & VS First Flight to the last Flight.
BR First Flight Departs at 11:00AM, I would assume the lounge would between 8:00AM-8:30AM.

Well I am sitting in the VS CH in HKG now eating some rather delicious satay. I have just asked and they open at 9am. It is about a 10 minute walk here (depending on how slowly people move on the travelators) or there is a train which drops you almost by the entrance.

Any advice as to the mechanics of doing this would be appreciated.

From doing my homework, I understand that because I have a same day departure, I can shower in the SKL or perhaps also in the TG lounge. Presumably I have to clear immigration first, check-in for my continuing flight to SIN, and then clear security and return airside to access the lounge and take the shower. Then, presumably I will need to return back through immigration. Will this cause any problems? And is the luggage storage landside or airside?
The arrival and departures areas at HKG are segregated, so upon arrival, if you have your BP for SQ865, you just need to pass through security (no need to go through immigration) to get to the departure areas and the lounges. If SFO couldn't print the BP for SQ865, go to the transfer desk to get the BP then proceed through security.

I think SQ should be able to through-check your luggage, so that there will be no need to reclaim it and check in again.

I'm not sure about the mechanics of going from the departures area back into the city. I haven't had an itinerary that made a quick visit to the city feasible.

In case you want to store hand luggage in the lounge because you don't want to schlepp it through your sightseeing trip, that is perfectly possible in the lounge. However, they don't have lockers, your luggage needs to sit in the open racks next to the entrance and the lounge ladies make it very clear that they do not accept any liability whatsoever for it. So you have to keep wearing your jewelry...

In order to get from the departure area back into the arrivals area (and then onto through immigration into Hong Kong) you need to be accompanied by an airline employee. The SQ ladies will be happy to call somebody from the SQ ticket desk to take you through - it might take a couple of minutes, though.

Have safe travels and enjoy Hong Kong!!

Yes it is a 10 minute walk from the SKL. The CH is up the other end of the terminal by the RCC and TG lounge. You can take the train up to the lounge from the SKL but I think you have to walk back but it really is not that far and there are travelators most of the way

I'm flying Raffles on award, no status, from HKG -SFO. Is the Virgin Clubhouse available to me? If not what is my best lounge option?

Thanks.

Please see this thread:

Virgin Clubhouse

I don't recall whether holding J BP will get you to VS CH. May be you also have to have SQ Elite Gold or PPS. I am sure someone will clear my confusion here. In JFK, I know regular J pax without SQ status are not invited to VS CH.

Thanks CKG! An interesting thread... it almost definitively anwered my question but then kind of fizzled out. It looks promising, though. Seeing as how we are on SQ 2 and it leaves so late a premium lounge experience would be a nice way to enhance our return home.

The answer, which should be "yes", lies in this other thread, in post #23 by UK flyer ^ . The relevant excerpt is:
