SQ + Silkair Merger: Will Silkair routes earn Star Alliance Miles?

Heretofore Silkair earned no miles nor offered any privileges for SA members from other airlines. SQ Kris flyer members did, but no other. Since SQ is merging with Silkair and rolling Silkair into the SQ brand, what are the expected impacts for an UMP 1K bloke such as myself?

This could be a big deal for me :-)

Ummm... there will be no more SilkAir... it will be all SQ... and all SQ routes will earn *A miles. You’ll get all the *A benefits on the erstwhile MI flights.

Unless you heavily use one of those routes that MI has handed over to TZ it’s all good news for you.
