Advice Needed: HGH CAN SIN DPS

Hi,

We need to travel from HGH (China) to Bali.

Option 1: HGH to CAN on Air China early morning (7AM departure), 3 hr 50 min connection, CAN to SIN on SQ851, 50 min connection, and then SIN to DPS on SQ 948, arriving at 9PM. In Economy.

Option 2: HGH to TPE on Air China, then 22 hour layover in TPE (will pay for a hotel next to airport), then next morning TPE to DPS on BR, again in economy.

Thoughts? Never taken SQ Y before- how is it? I heard it’s one of the best economy products in Asia? I don’t like CX economy shell seats.
Forgot to mention it’s award redemption with Aeroplan

Thanks!!

I will go for your second option .
Or PVG - SIN - DPS with SQ all the way.

Why 2nd? Air China is that bad?

PVG would require us to take a train - kinda hard with two checked luggage.

Absolutely nothing wrong with Air China. I have flown with them many times in J and they are perfectly fine. I flew TPE-PVG with them in economy and it was a good flight. On time, plenty of legroom, sandwich and a hot drink (I think you could also request a beer). No issues with measuring or weighing cabin baggage or anything.

Singapore on the other hand is a marked step up... full meals, full beverage selection, full IFE, more comfortable wide-body aircraft.
