Singapore Airlines shops for world's longest jet

Airbus' A350-2000 would be nearly 258 feet long and seat 400 passengers. Boeing's 777-10X would be 263 feet and hold 450, in standard arrangements. That's about 30 and 50 passengers more, respectively, than the current largest A350 and 777X jets.

"Additionally, both designs would stretch the fuselages to make room in the cabin for more seats, and move galleys used for food preparation to under the passenger cabin floor."

Interesting ...

I hope they come up with a really innovative long haul product for all classes... though this is doubtful since they really seem to really like their current design trend... but who knows they did say the A350 long range product launching 2017-18ish would be different

Amazing, why did aircraft manufacturers that not earlier ? At a cost of cargo capacity of course.

Will the 777-9X not be renamed to 797 at its release ?

And possibly Airbus will release an A380neo with new engines but is still in negotiations with Emirates.

OTOH, four engines is not of this era anymore. Unless the A380neo will be twin-engine, but then it is almost a double deck version of the 350-1000. The 747s are still there, but by 2020 they are all phased out by the major airlines. LH will replace them by the 777-9X.
So the A380 will finally be replaced by the A350-1000 or 777-9X which has the same capacity.
