First Class SIN-PVG
I'm going to Shanghai on Singapore Airlines, what service should I expect from reaching the airport until I get off at my destination?
Which seat should I choose for the most room? Thanks in advance!
P.S. The seats are Skysuites, right? If not, what are they?

- When reaching the airport, you can use the 1st door entrance (Premium Services Check-in) which is for First Class/Solitaire PPS customers only. You can give your ticket to the receptionist and your bags will be taken care of from the curbside.
- Check-in is done in the FC/Solitaire Check-in Lounge.
- You can then visit Silver Kris Lounge (First Class). It pales in comparison to CX's The Wing in Hong Kong, but it has most (if not everything) you need: good F&B, smoking room, movie room, internet terminals, showers, etc.
- SIN-PVG flights are served with either B777-200 or -300 aircraft. None has the SkySuites in F. However, for day flights, the F seats are more than adequate. There are 3 rows on the -300s and 2 rows on -200s.
For more privacy, I prefer 2A/F on the -200s or 3A/F on the -300s which are the last row seats.
- Food is usually good (have never been on CX F to compare). You can request "Book The Cook" which is reserving your specific meal in advance. Something not available on CX. Visit www.singaporeair.com to see the menu.
- Due to the flight times and duration, you might not get the Bvlgari amenity kits & "Givenchy" sleeper suits. The sleeper suit design is nothing special but they are VERY comfortable to sleep in.
- IFE: Older B777-200s and -300s do NOT have AVOD, while the newer planes do. How to find out: If the video screen pops out from the front of your armrest, you don't have AVOD. If it pops out from top of the armrest, you have AVOD.
- Krug and Dom are both served on board.
- Baggage will be First priority of course.
Is this your first flight in F on SQ? Enjoy your flight

Yep, it's my first flight on SQ First. I'm a Cathay Pacific Marco Polo DIAMOND member, and I frequently travel CX First. Thanks for all the information, but what are the non skysuite seats like?
Also, CX First is definitely one of the best FC products there is.

Of course.
I have seen your posts on CX board.
Here's the one with AVOD.
Here's the one without AVOD.
I agree that CX is one of the best around. Haven't tried their F, but have been on their J several times.
I have a feeling you won't be dissapointed with SQ either.
Unfortunately your seat wouldn't be SkySuite.

The recline is non-flat, but comfortable.
If you absolutely need a flat bed for sleeping, then you'll be in trouble.
Otherwise, these are good for sleeping.
I would say about 170 degrees (someone correct me if I am wrong).
Pray hard for equipment change to B747-400.
Only there you'll have SkySuites.

Terminal 2, first door on your left.
Watch for a bunch of staff in ivory colored uniform with 5-star hotel style baggage trolley with "FIRST CLASS" written on it.

Re the seats - think old CX F
I fly this route often and really do not like the seats at all - I give a great deal of credit to CX for having a unified F seat on all equipment

Just curious, what do you not like about the F seats? You fly F much more than I do so I am sure you have better observations in this matter.

I just flew SIN-BLR in F, which has the non skysuites. If you are anything like me, there will be no sleeping in these seats! They're much better suited for daylight flights.
But of course the service and food was very good. I have never flown CX, in any class, so can't compare.

Oh, thanks. After my checkin procedures are done, where do I go, and what do the surroudings look like? As you may know, I'm usually in terminal one with CX.
P.S. StarG, if you get a chance, do try the CX First seats! On the A346.
