Air NZ Fleet and Routes
Feeling a bit left out/left behind compared to the other FT forums (j/k), so I’m going to tinker on a thread/wiki for the fleet and routes to see where our aircraft go, even if they’re in storage
so excuse the mess
Routes go hand in hand with aircraft, hence the combined thread.
Please feel free to add / remove / change as you see fit. Anyone with 90 posts after 90 days FT membership can edit the wiki. Otherwise post and someone else can add.
There will be mistakes and I’m happy to be corrected.
Questions:
1. How many of the 777’s have finished the PE/Y refresh? Or does anyone recall any regos they’ve flown that had the refresh?
2. CHC 321 OYA, 320 OXG – is OXG just maintenance? OYA has been there forever… why? Parked for parts?
3. NZC/D/E/F are V1.
NZJ/L/M/N/Q/R are V2?
What versions are/were NZG/H/I/K?
4. NZ 6xxx are delivery/ferry flights. What are the 1xxx numbered flights that occur now and then?
5. Is it known yet whether the order for 5x A321 Neos are for domestic or international or a mix?
so excuse the mess

Yay! My favourite topic!
1. How many of the 777’s have finished the PE/Y refresh? Or does anyone recall any regos they’ve flown that had the refresh?
OKQ OKN OKO are the ones that I am aware of.
2. CHC 321 OYA, 320 OXG – is OXG just maintenance? OYA has been there forever… why? Parked for parts?
OYA has no engines due to the PW issue. Its engines are on the intls. OXG is just AOG and not there long term.
3. NZC/D/E/F are V1.
NZJ/L/M/N/Q/R are V2?
NZG/J is also v1.
What versions are/were NZG/H/I/K?
NZG is V1, NZH was V1, NZI was V1, NZK was V1. NZH is v4, NZI is v4, NZK is in SIN to become v4 now.
4. NZ 6xxx are delivery/ferry flights. What are the 1xxx numbered flights that occur now and then?
NZ6xxx are not just delivery flights but also repo flights. The 1xxx we are seeing now are just domestic ad-hoc.
List:
1000 to 1199 Contracted International scheduled Cargo services
1300 to 1389 International shorthaul ad-hoc operational flights
1910 to 1919 Domestic Jet charter flights
1940 to 1959 International charter flights for Longhaul (if for another airline bkgs must be made in Carina)
6200 to 6229 Domestic non revenue, positioning and planning services operated by Domestic Jet aircraft
6230 to 6239 Domestic non revenue, positioning and planning services operated by Intl aircraft WITHIN NZ only
6240 to 6249 Domestic Jet Cargo services
6250 to 6259 Promotional Jet flights operating within New Zealand
5. Is it known yet whether the order for 5x A321 Neos are for domestic or international or a mix?
Domestic, NNI is the last intl arriving (AFAIK), so 2 intl (NNH, NNI), rest dom.

NNI is scheduled to depart XFW on the 25th bound for AKL, but seeing it hasn't even completed one test flight yet, let alone the three it requires.. not looking promising it will be on the 25th.

Are all the 777s done now? I didn't think there was a plan to redo the covers on all the seats and that initially it was just those that were worn?
I never understood why they opted for black leather when they were replacing the cream leather Spaceseat and the BP seat was still cream leather!

ORD is/was supposed to return late 2025.
If Wamos takes over the NRT route, could they then send the 777 to take over a 789 route which would then free up a 789 to bring Chicago back onto the schedule??

Aircraft maintenance in deserts
The rest of the article is quite funny and discusses the issues of snakes etc. Whilst it references Victorville in the Mojave desert, CA it likely applies to Alice Springs as well.
"Regular maintenance on the aircraft includes draining fuel tanks of water caused by condensation, rotating the wheels to avoid flat spots, checking tyre pressure, and inspecting the fuselage and wings for animal nests."

Then also for A320/1
300-399 WLG-CHC & vv
400-499 WLG-AKL & vv
500-599 CHC-AKL & vv
600-699 other domestic A320/1 and some XXX-AKL direct via WLG where the WLG-AKL sector of the direct keeps the 6xx instead of a 4xx
And a lot of the 53xx matches the 3xx when operatorated by ATR instead of a bus.
