EC261/UK261 claims for Eurobonus partner awards
I'm considering making a one-way Eurobonus booking consisting of two segments: the first a US domestic flight to SEA with DL, the second with VS to LHR.
The connection in Seattle is 40 minutes, which seems a little on the tight side, so there must be a fair chance of missing the VS flight.
Does anyone have experience of reticketing on Eurobonus partner awards? There's a DL flight to London later that evening which I'd hope to be put on, but whether SK and DL would be able to sort that out between them seems questionable.
I believe I'd be covered under UK261 if my arrival in London was delayed by more than 3 hours ("arrive at an airport in the UK on an EU or UK airline"). Am I right in thinking that any claim should go to SK in this scenario? Has anyone gone through the process of claiming compensation from them for delays on partner awards?
TIA
Edit: I've now found a thread indicating that UK261 "probably does not apply", which I guess just leaves the question regarding the potential reticketing.

UK261 would not apply. When it is a single ticket, the carrier causing the delay/misconnect will have to manage the rebooking. In this case DL in Seattle. If it is obvious before departure you may try to get rebooked at the origin, but they may insist that you go to the connection point. As they don't necessarily see if there are plans to hold the next flight as more passengers may be delay.

You may well be right about UK261, but I'm currently of the view that it's entirely unclear, as per my post here: FlyerTalk Forums - View Single Post - The 2026 BA compensation thread: Your guide to Regulation EC261 / UK261 / APR

Cool, thanks. There's loads of availability on the DL flight to LHR currently so that should be fine.

DL would not entertain any claims for EU comp. for a domestic flight in the US. VS and SAS has nothing to do with any delay or cancellation of the DL flight.
The issue could also be that the DL ground staff at SEA will refuse to touch the ticket and ask you to contact SAS for rebooking the moment they realise that this is an award ticket issued by others than DL. This is a recipe for disaster in case your travel is disrupted in the US.

I'd be slightly concerned about the connection, but not worried about DL managing it.
