OUTDATED historical info below:
When you reach 200.000 tier points within a tracking period. you will receive what we call a milestone gift. After this, you will receive a gift when you reach each 100.000 points level.
In May 2022:
200.000 receives 40.000 award points or certain gift items (scarf, towel set etc)
300.000 receives 60.000 award points or certain gift items (scarf, towel set etc)
400.000 receives 100.000 award points or certain gift items (scarf, towel set etc)
500.000 receives 100.000 award points or a choice of certain gift items (scarf, towel set etc)
600.000 receives 100.000 award points or a choice of certain gift items (scarf, towel set etc)
700.000 receives no award points but a choice of certain gift items (scarf, towel set etc)
800.000 receives no award points but a choice of certain gift items (scarf, towel set etc)
900.000 receives no award points but a choice of certain gift items (scarf, towel set etc)
1 Million wait for it! receives no award points but a choice of certain gift items (scarf, towel set etc)
So, safe to assume this goes on indefinitely.

Purely hypothetical, but if the milestones are meant to incentivize more travel, there must be a law of diminishing returns.
400k is basically equivalent of 42k€ (40k€ + taxes) spend in less than 12 months. This point is likely reached near the end of the year, and the higher up in points, the shorter time left of the year. If there is one month left of the period, and you want to push a 400k person to book and fly for another 5+ k€ in that last month just to reach 450k? Mind you, if a person is at 400k already after 10 months, then they have spent 4+ k€ every month so far and it is likely they will spend 4+ k€ the coming months too. Then no need to incentivize at all, money is coming in anyway.
(Of course campaigns and mileage-idiots skew the scales quite a bit, but the airline can't design the program based on exceptions.)
IMO the milestones have little value to the airline high up in the hierarchy.

They are there to keep you flying ay... otherwise after reaching LUMO you could easily reach star gold or ST e+ also ( okay some of us do all 3 🤡🤣

For me its pure math, but for OPM flyers its most likely not
I rarely go overboard with EQPs but this year is different, with 45 days and Lumo+ some but my math is purely counting on avios based travel for the next 2 years based on LUMO
Who knows, I just double checked my napkin math and it SHOULD be solid but again nothing is guaranteed in life....
I still have 3 trips booked but those are full flex so I have to decide if cancelling them is indeed more lucrative then the rewards offered. I am also counting towards LT status on AY now that I finished LTP with FB so theres that too... but 400k it will be for sure, maybe 450 if I fly them all.... had there been a 80 or 100k option at 500k then likely I would have pushed there... but a scarf or towel set wont win my business...
😀

Gift horse and all that...
Personally this is not my style and the linked Tumi product page just reinforces that. It's an eternal shame, that Rimowa redrew from airline cobranding co-operation. I was lucky enough to exchange my AY Tumi for an old school AY Rimowa with an old time member here, whose wife definitely wanted the Tumi
PS - that was so typical FT exchange. Counterparty had a layover in HEL, so we met up at the burger joint outside arrivals (this before the current HEL layout). He got landslide, quickly exchanged bags, then he's back airside, case closed (pun intended).

Now that I figured out that the extra gifts are "only" 65000 avios I have to decide whether to keep some "excess" flights or just cancel them...
In one hand its extra LT points and some extra avios but I guess I will let the math decide...

How did you do the math that told you ”AY paid me to fly to Lumo with 2x promo” - Something you could share to educate ourselves?

Each upgrade voucher also has a theoretical value to some its 50/100/125€ etc
Each gold card has the same
As does the tumi bag etc...
With each milesstone gift and avios also...
I also assign a theoretical value to 3 years of OWE.
All this of course is a very personal value calculation and has nothing to do with common sense 😁

This is the one that likely (and magically) would change the math for me and others in a way that I hadn't fully realised. The 'jokers' make the value of vouchers go from near zero to a very real value. Getting twice as many and having their value increase by 2-3x by jumping from plat to lumo is something I hadn't put in my calculations.
