First wing guests

Have BA changed their approach recently to guests. My wife is gold whilst myself and my three year old daughter are silver (in both cases a lot closer to the gold than silver threshold) - our family is not in the UK so we travel a lot. I'm closer to gold this year than my wife but I don't see the point of chasing it down because BA seems to have got strict on who can go into the lounge. Previously as long as either I or my wife were gold they let all three of us into the lounge but now it seems that is no longer allowed. Which defeats the point as we can hardly leave our three year old to get through the airport alone. It's a bit galling when I add up our total tier points as a trio and it's well over double the gold threshold...

Gold gets you one guest and anyone 2 year old or youngerthat would explain how all three of you got in previously. The only thing that has changed is the age of the child. Lounge staff dont see your running TP totals. You are either gold or not as far as they can see. I would advise against leaving your three year old alone. If someone absolutely must go through the first wing, then your wife should take the child with her. And you can get some alone time going through normal fast track security. Or you all go through fast track.

no changes to Policy, always Gold +1 guest

The change here is your daughter is getting older

if they were letting in 2 guests. They were making an exception. Children under 2 do not need guesting. Possibly was easier for them to make the exception while your daughter was 2 but as she gets older they may be less willing to do so.

No policy change - it is not permitted to have two guests. Since your daughter turned 2, staff members have been giving you an exception here, which by its nature cannot be expected every time! Unfortunately your reaction is exactly why BA would hesitate to offer sensible exceptions like they did for your young child. You now feel entitled to it, rather than grateful.

You would be better off being very content you have gotten the extra guest so many times, rather than complaining you didn't get it this time and how you are 'near' gold.. you are either all eligible for the lounge or you are not, and you are not!

Saying my premium economy ticket was 'near' business class price so I should be able to get a nicer seat wouldn't work on board, for example..

The three of you can still visit the Club lounges as each of you qualifies on your own and no guesting is even required.
