The domestic OW redemption I have been trying to use my 25k certificate on finally booked tonight. The dreaded -1990 error is gone.

i used my summit card companion certificate during the azure outage on 10/29 to redeem two awards on QR. my certificate was redeemed/used from my account on 10/29, but my miles haven't been deducted yet.

my ticket has been issued as i have ticket numbers for both passengers (i am able to pull up my reservation on QR and see the ticket numbers in their system as well) and my card has been charged with the taxes. has anyone had any previous experience with mileage not being deducted from your account after redeemed an award after a couple days? i am concerned that i won't be able to check in when it comes time to obtain my boarding pass due to this. any feedback/insight would be appreciated!

thanks in advance!

I would very much encourage you to call Alaska. They are notorious for issues even if things look good from your end. That being said, the fact you can pull up the reservation on QRs website is a good sign.

Based on your experience, how long does it take for them to issue the Global Companion Certificate?

it should be a day or two after your statement closes when hitting your required spend.

My 100k cert posted this week when I crossed the spend threshold, and I still had two weeks to statement close.

How long after canceling ticket using 25k companion pass is coupon returned back to your atmos rewards accountant?

Another quirk today. After a month of the -1990 error message, I was able to book a domestic AS OW ticket from PDX-SNA. That went through two weeks ago. Today I went to cancel it because a cash fare with the companion certificate made more sense as an open-jaw RT. Went to cancel and the site gave me an error and I called in. 40 minutes on hold as they tried to figure it out. And we discovered the ticket never deducted the miles from my account. It in fact did not as I've been watching my balance like a hawk. The certificate was gone but not the miles after the book. On cancelling the certificate was immediately re-issued and no change in miles.

I am very confused by my 25K cert. I booked a refundable itinerary for 22,500 points (on porter). I now need to change it to a week earlier. I tried to change it and it said I can't do it online (the flights I want are available at the same price). So first question is, can it be changed if I call?
When I found I could not change it, I looked at cancelling and rebooking, however, it appears that because I only used it for 22.500 points instead of the full 25,000 that the discount will be forfeited entirely?

The FAQ doesnt appear to say that a cert is lost if it was used for less than 25k and then the award is canceled.

https://www.alaskaair.com/atmosrewar...ompanion-award

I would expect to get the cert returned to the account and then be usable again for the original 25k discount value (though it doesnt say that it will be 25k vs. in your case 22.5k but it just seems logical to me).

I would contact AS reservations - maybe they can just rebook you.

Do both travelers earn status points or just the primary?
