The Hilton Burau Bay Langkawi Resort is now accepting reservations for June 1 and beyond. Rates start at around 274 USD per night. It was supposed to open next month and we thought of staying there in May when we would be in Malaysia.

The DoubleTree Wilkes-Barre is very noteworthy to me: It's probably going to be our family reunion hotel next summer. It's been in the pipeline to re-brand from the Holiday Inn for over a year while it underwent an extensive renovation. Glad to see that wasn't just a rumor! And, it's an excellent alternative for people who want to visit Mohegan Sun PA, which is practically down the street.

I just received this e-mail about The Hampton Inn & Suites Pigeon Forge on the Parkway (2025 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863):

Thank you for choosing to stay with us. Unfortunately, your upcoming reservation may need to be updated. Please be advised effective March 01, 2026, Hampton Inn & Suites Pigeon Forge On The Parkway is no longer part of the Hilton portfolio.


After March 01, 2026, the hotel will be managed by a new hotel operator who will oversee your current reservation. If you would like to make a change to your reservation, please contact the hotel directly at .
Looks like it's already gone. 2 or 3 days ago they disabled reservations for it on the Hilton site so I figured something was coming. I haven't figured out which brand it's transitioning to. I was already considering cancelling this, as I found a different property I wanted to stay at. But I hadn't cancelled it yet. Now I can't do it from the app or website. And yes, the e-mail is as I copied, there was no phone number in there, like there's probably supposed to be. I'll give it a few weeks, when we hopefully know more about what's going on (my stay is in May). I just don't want to be charged a no-show fee from a mystery hotel haha.

Even though I don’t think anyone in this thread has ever been interested in Hilton Grand Vacations, a new one is opening on March 18 in Kyoto, Japan.

Tradimo Kyoto Gojo, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club

Here's the news about aquiring the property from October 2024, the third one in Japan:

Hilton Quang Hanh Onsen Resort, Vietnam
It looks like this hasn’t been brought up on the forum before. In February, Hilton took over management of the Yoko Onsen resort in Qung Ninh, Vietnam. The resort, which opened in 2020, will be renamed Hilton Quang Hanh Onsen Resort, becoming Hilton’s first onsen resort in Southeast Asia.

An onsen resort is a Japanese-style retreat centred on natural hot‑spring baths, offering calm, well‑designed accommodation for relaxation and therapeutic soaking. The switch to Hilton is part of a wider effort to strengthen Quảng Ninh’s position as a wellness destination and to attract visitors throughout the year rather than only in peak season.

The resort includes villas and traditional Japanese-style rooms. Some are already open, with the rest due later this year. All accommodation comes with private onsen facilities and hot–cold bathing setups. There’s also a large public onsen area, a children’s zone, and a clubhouse with a spa, indoor pool, gym, yoga space, and a Japanese restaurant.

The site is built around a rare natural hot mineral spring with unusually high saline and bromine levels. This water is known for its therapeutic effects and has already made the original Yoko Onsen a popular wellness spot in Vietnam. With Hilton now involved, the resort is expected to gain more international visibility and become a recognised onsen destination for travellers exploring northern Vietnam.

The rate is around 50,000 points per night, or roughly €150-200, or slightly higher in US dollars.

Did anyone had any luck getting info on Hilton Kathmandu? It was seriously damaged damaged in the riots several months ago and stopped taking reservations with no further no furthther.

Intriguing new signing: Conrad Ulaanbaatar, Hilton's first property in Mongolia, opening 2028 with 227 rooms, four F&B venues, meeting venues, an indoor pool and spa within a mixed-use tower.

Motto is expanding to Australia with the signing of Motto by Hilton Sydney City Centre, opening in late 2027 with 152 rooms in a location on York Street.

In July 2025 it was reported by logos-pres.md that The Dacia Hotel is closed, apparently for an extended period. The reconstruction is expected to be substantial: it will take no less than three years to bring the property up to the standards required for a Hilton Garden Inn. The most recent review for the Dacia I was able to trace dates from December 2024.

If you Google images of the ruins, it looks even worse than seriously damaged. It looks irreparably destroyed.

It is being rebuilt from multiple sources including Reuters and AP. This article is the most in depth:
The Shankar Group, which invested about eight billion in the hotel, closed it after setting it ablaze on September 9, a year after its inauguration. They plan to restore it and reopen it within a year.

The insurance company settled a claim of about 4 billion , allowing the group to expedite reconstruction. The investor believe the funds are sufficient, as the initial assessment didn’t reveal significant structural issues.

I should also note that construction appears to have started since that article, with pictures showing the structure completely scaffolded and construction ongoing in February 2026.
