What is your Priority Club status?
Diamond Elite
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest entry level room on points for 5 nights and received a multi-level upgrade to 1 bedroom corner suite, fantastic room on 15th floor overlooking Victoria Harbour. This room was retailing for around 950 per night according to the IHG app during our stay, so an excellent redemption at an average of 80,000 pts per night.

I had a wonderful three day stay at the Regent - booked the "Elevate your stay" rate which made the third night free. Still I paid around 600€ for each of the first nights which I think is a steep price for the cheapset room - but sometimes you need to spoil yourself.
They upgraded me in advance to a King Bed Harbour View Daybed room as it was my first stay with the hotel. Wit my club membership I also got access to the Regent Club.
The interior design of the room was very unique. YOu basically enter the room and are standing in the bathroom which has a sliding door to the real room. Advangage - you can sit in your bathtub and watch the harbour

The Regent Club delivered on its promise (but your expectation must be high when they charge 200€/night for access). The buffets for breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktail hour were huge - too much stuff to try in one sitting
I was really stunned when I left on the last day - a club attendant opened the door for me and said "goodbye mr. f0zzyNUE" - the days before no one called me by my name and after the 2nd visit I didn't have to provide my room number. Does the staff need to have photographic memory to remember all guest's names?
Breakfast was much quieter in the club. One day i went to the main restaurant and it was crowded. I had to wait in line around 10 minutes until they assigned me a table. Wanted to test the restaurant breakfast at least once. Otherwise I would have turned around.
Very, very nice property at a top location. Will I stay again? Probably only when I get a good rate or win a lottery jackpot. In my eyes the hotel is very much overpriced (even the lovely club might pay out the access fee only when you are an alcoholic and crave on champagne and cocktails at the happy hour) and I can get cheaper hotel alternatives in HKG - maybe go back to the IC GS where I stayed the last 15 years or try the new Kimpton which looks fantastic. In the end I just need a comfy hotel bed for sleeping and a clean and nice bathroom for a shower. The remainder of the day I will explore and enjoy one of my favorite cities (I just travel for leisure - not for business). This time I wanted to test all the amenities that are provided - but on a consecutive stay I would agin focus on the city.

Glad you are having a good stay, a very interesting bathroom setup, but that bathtub...... oomph i need to devise an elegant way to plop in and climb out.
Can't spot anything to cling myself on to hinge myself out.
Anyway i can envision myself already on the floor in an X if the bathroom floor is slippery ....
Maybe i just need to loose weight and retake a course in acrobatics.
Youtube knows me by now, i get presented with recommendations:
"SENIORS: How To Fall Safely Without Injury".
Enjoy your time in HKG, wishing you a happy Chinese Lunar New Year !

They need to do something about the breakfast line. The selection is also only okay and there isnt anything thats la carte. The view is great but none with a base room. Layout is odd.
On the plus side, the service can be good and the welcome amenities are very nice.

The Club lounge breakfast options are very good, although my poached eggs were cold and I asked them to redo (assume they cook them in advance and try to reheat for serving). As well as the buffet, there are decent a la carte options

The inimitable OMAAT is swooning over the Rosewood Hong Kong, ranked the best hotel in the world which says about as much for the ranking as it does for OMAATs reviews.
He continues to travel either on points earned from his countless credit cards seemingly unable to pay for anything outright or as a guest of his husband, who owns a travel agency.
So what exactly are we meant to take away from his conclusions?
Rather presumptuously, he anoints the Manor Club the best lounge in the world as if he had conducted a comprehensive, globe-spanning audit of hotel lounges.
Special mention for the "people-watching": OMAAT seems positively beside himself in front of the crazy rich crowd, relishing the thrill at no cost to himself of feeling, if only for an afternoon, like part of the global economic elite.
One suspects he has not set foot in the superb Regent Club at at the Regent Hong Kong just next door (too many points needed and no club access?), which rather undermines the grandiosity of the claim.
What he actually describes is not some revolutionary concept, but simply an excellent club lounge: attentive service, attractive presentation, continuous food, agreeable surroundings. In other words, exactly what a top-tier Asian luxury hotel has been doing for years

Yes the blatant OMAAT x Ford B. travel travel agency = invited by hotel means opnions are my own. Interlocked interests.
My signature handle link collects all worldwide lounges from the big 5 + Four Seasons, i'd be surprised if he has visited them all
But back on topic, both Regent & Rosewood next to each other will give an interesting dynamic in "special" offers & enticements to lure in each other customers ...... always good to tickle the interest ...
