you get XP when BoA approves your application. You then wait 7-10 business days to receive the physical card.
on the date of approval:
- the card will Show up on your BoA app
- XP will show up on the Air France app

Has anyone here successfully applied for a Bank of America Flying Blue Visa with a relatively young US credit profile and an ITIN (no SSN)?
Last year I was declined for a BofA Customized Cash card because I only had an Amex charge card at the time I think (reasons were “did not have sufficient established revolving credit accounts,” “low credit limits,” etc.). Since August 2025 I have an Amex Bonvoy Brilliant with a USD 25k credit line, very low utilization, and perfect payment history. I have also banked with BoFA for about two years.
My score is around the mid-700s, but my only revolving card is still under a year old. Would you recommend waiting until the Bonvoy card is 9–12 months old before applying, or does the existing BofA banking relationship materially improve approval odds?

What I am seeing is this:
"Limit one opening of account XP bonus offer per Flying Blue member for each Air France KLM credit card account opened within a 24 month period. You will qualify for 70,000 bonus miles and 100 XP if you use your new credit card account to make any combination of purchase transactions totaling at least $3,000 (excluding any fees, such as the annual fee) that post to your account within 90 days of the account open date."
(Emphasis added.)

The Visa version was released today and the Mastercard version is gone. So you are right, they have officially stopped accepting applications for the Mastercard today. However I could get to the Mastercard application page until yesterday, and sometimes a working link for an old version stays around for some time. I was hoping somebody is aware of such a link.

Well, I'm PfL now, so that 160 XP means no real change for me but that's more than 50% of XPs required for Platinum. This will make obtaining PfL much easier for folks in the US.

Otherwise you need to fly many flights in Y (earning 2XP) per segment to get the remaining 140 xp

As a US-based flyer, I've found that all 3 major US carriers (including DL) often have discounted domestic F (counted as J worldwide) offers. With 1 connection each way, that's 24xp for a domestic trip. These domestic F tickets can be found for less than a 25% increase compared to regular Y. A few of these trips can easily get one to Flying Blue Platinum. Of course, with the revamped BoA CC, this is now even easier.
