As a US-based flyer, I've found that all 3 major US carriers (including DL) often have discounted domestic F (counted as J worldwide) offers. With 1 connection each way, that's 24xp for a domestic trip. These domestic F tickets can be found for less than a 25% increase compared to regular Y. A few of these trips can easily get one to Flying Blue Platinum. Of course, with the revamped BoA CC, this is now even easier.
