How and when will my Eligible Status Years for 2024 and 2025 be applied to my Account?

In 2024 I achieved a new higher level.
  • 2024 Tenure: Added at time of achievement in 2024 in real time.
  • 2025 Tenure: Will be added on January 1, 2026, unless a higher level is achieved during 2025.
In 2024 I met the criteria to renew my current level.
  • 2024 Tenure: Added on January 1, 2025.
  • 2025 Tenure: Added third week of January 2025.
In 2024 I did not meet the criteria to renew my current level.
  • 2024 Tenure: Added on January 1, 2025.
  • 2025 Tenure: For new status, one level below current status, tenure will be added in early March 2025.

How and when will my Eligible Status Years for 2023 and 2024 be applied to my Account?

In 2023 I achieved a new higher level.
  • 2023 Tenure: Added at time of achievement in 2023 in real time.
  • 2024 Tenure: Will be added on January 1, 2025, unless a higher level is achieved during 2024.
In 2023 I met the criteria to renew my current level.
  • 2023 Tenure: Added on January 1, 2024.
  • 2024 Tenure: Added third week of January 2024.
In 2023 I did not meet the criteria to renew my current level.
  • 2023 Tenure: Added on January 1, 2024.
  • 2024 Tenure: For new status, one level below current status, tenure will be added in early March.

How will my Eligible Status Years for 2022 be applied to my Account and when?

If you maintained the same Elite status in 2022 that you started with in 2022 , your 2022 Eligible Status Year for your current status will be applied to your Account in January 2023.

If you achieved a higher Elite status during 2022, your 2022 Eligible Status Year for the new, higher tier was applied at the time of achievement.

If you did not meet the published criteria to renew your current status in 2022, your 2022 Eligible Status Year for your current status will be added in January 2023, and your Eligible Status Year for your new status will be added in March 2023 when your Elite status is updated.

===

When will my 2021 qualifying year of Elite status be applied to my Account so I can track my path to Lifetime Elite Status?

As part of our regular process, Members receive their qualifying year towards Lifetime Elite status in one of two ways:
  1. If you maintain the same Elite level that you started the year with, your Qualifying Year of Elite status will be applied to your Account in January of the following year. Please Note: In November 2021, when we extended the Elite status that Members earned in 2019 or 2020, Members received their 2021 Qualifying Year of Elite status.
  2. If you achieve a higher Elite level during the year than the previous year, your Qualifying Year for the new, higher level will be applied at the time of achievement. Please Note: If you achieved a higher Elite level during 2021, your 2021 qualifying year of Elite status, was applied at the time of achievement.

If you maintain the same Elite level for 2022, your 2022 year of Elite status will be applied to your Account in January 2023. If you achieve a higher Elite level during 2022, your 2022 year of tenure for the new, higher level will be applied at the time of achievement.

Examples:
  • A Member achieved Gold Elite in 2019 and enjoyed the status in 2020. They received their 2020 year of Gold Elite status in July 2020 when we extended their status. Due to status extensions, the Member received their 2021 year of tenure in November 2021 when they their status was extended to February 2023.
  • A Member achieved Platinum Elite in 2020 and enjoyed the status in 2021. They received their 2021 year of Platinum status in November 2021 when they their status was extended to February 2023.
  • A Gold Elite Member achieved Platinum Elite in April 2021; the Platinum year of Elite status for 2021 was applied upon achievement (in April 2021).

I suspect that at 1172 nights to date and 24 years as Platinum or above probably affects that.

However, I have noted that at ST Regis and even JW Marriott they end out providing more amenities than are officially noted, in particular free meals from time to time at St Regis.
I wonder what others among us who have Lifetime status have noted? Especially things not stated parts of the program. In particular I do not stay at Marriott properties enough any more to have Ambassador stays.
We don't travel much now, and rarely stay at full-service Marriott properties (more typically Springhill or Residence Inn near family in a suburban area). On the rare occasions we're in a Marriott, Sheraton, Westin, Renaissance, or Luxury Collection I've noted nothing that seemed more extraordinary than Platinum/Titanium benefits.

My wife feels Marriott properties across the portfolio have fallen very far from what was once a high standard; these are no longer her first choice when we travel, and she usually wins I can't say I have strong feelings either way, but agree it doesn't 'feel special' and incline me toward Marriott over anything else.

cheers!

PS - I remember fondly when Marriotts offered the choice of a fruit/cheese plate and half-bottle of wine for Platinum arrival. My wife (gf then) *really* liked that; especially if the hotel was out of half-bottles and gave us a full one!

As a lifetime Titanium and current Ambassador, I agree fully on the general fall of properties across the brand. I don't think its unique to Marriott, however.

More of my domestic (US) stays are going to other brands because the elite benefits really aren't worth the price premium in most major cities and Hawaii. I'm still very happy with Marriott elite treament internationally; while suites are sometimes hard to come by, hotels tend to over-deliver with breakfast and often proactively offer 4PM checkout.

Im a 9 years and 585 nights, so Ill have to go a bit over 600 to get my final year. I never thought Id get there pre-covid but Marriott became overly generous with cc nights and double night promos so its been pretty easy to do the last several years.

add me as another one at 9 years. I am currently at 582 "nights". I missed out completely last year on double nights promo due to personal matters, but nevertheless would have needed another (status) year (2026) anyway to move the ticker to 10 years.

If you have it, of course it will still show as valid. It's valid for life.

The difference between Titanium and Lifetime Titanium is that you don't have to requalify every year. Other than that, they are the same.

LT PLT under SPG translated into LT Titanium under Bonvoy when Marriott took over.

Lots of hotels provide more/greater benefits than Bonvoy requires. In Asia, for example, it's not unusual to select points as your check-in amenity and still get free breakfast. Has nothing to do with Lifetime versus non-Lifetime status.

Yes, I haven't noticed any different treatment as Lifetime Titanium. Does anybody see the distinction or only the status? I'm unaware if there is any additional consideration with lifetime status with Bonvoy. For instance, Hilton Honors prioritizes Lifetime Diamond members for room upgrades over regular Diamonds (a status which one can get with a credit card).

In general, I've noticed fewer extras since Bonvoy started, and this is coming from someone who was previously Lifetime Platinum with Marriott Rewards.

I'm at 680 nights already, so I just need the additional Titanium year to be done with it. The Covid rollover status was nice. I think I'd be at 750+ nights if stays didn't stop during the pandemic.

I wonder if I should to get at least to 750+ nights this year and try my luck asking to get into LT Titanium saying I was SPG member before the merger. lol
