I have some QR flights next month (North America to SE Asia and back, TBD in SE Asia since I've been QR'd on the DOH-SE Asia flights so trying to figure out what I'll do) but I was wondering if QR often just adopts the same menu by region/country.
For example, it seems like the JFK-DOH menu is always the same. Do they use the same or similar menu for other US flights? What about YYZ and YUL flights? I know, for example, I have had identical menus on YYZ-CDG and YUL-CDG on Air France and Finnair has identical menus to/from US on all their flights in J no matter if it is DFW, JFK, MIA etc.

There are quite a lot of menus in this thread from the US to compare.

Hello, I'm new in this forum.
I have flown with Qatar Business Class few times on the QSuite and in the 787-8.
Can somebody help me identify the type of cheeses in this platter that I ordered on my fllight in October 2022?

Now that you mention it, I can see the seeds which, IMO, definitively identify it as a slice of eggplant. Thanks, I would never have guessed if you hadn't mentioned it!

QR 764 YUL-DOH November
Upcoming menu on YUL-DOH right around the Winter schedule change (not sure if that's relevant to the menus on QR). A few things here I've never seen in this thread. No mezze and I'm tired of always ordering beef but these fish and chicken meals aren't calling out to me particularly loudly.
ALL DAY DINING
STARTERS
Cream of tomato and coconut soup
Spanish style tapas - potato salad, maple pumpkin confit, feta and melon
Beef carpaccio - tarragon truffle sauce and edamame
MAIN COURSE
Grilled beef tenderloin and prawn with herb jus - gratin potatoes, kale and baby pepper
Grilled chicken breast with preserved lemon - herb risotto, Brussel sprouts and jus
Pan-seared red snapper, scallop and prawn - purple potatoes, heirloom tomato and snow peas
King oyster mushroom, shimeji and rapini in shiitake dashi ragout - baby peppers and pickled radish
SWEET FINALE
Carrot cake with coconut and caramel cream
Gourmet ice cream selection
LIGHT MEAL
Montreal style beef pastrami bagel - fingerling potatoes, quail eggs and Caesar dressing
Fresh berries with bay leaf syrup
BREAKFAST
MAIN COURSE
Four-cheese omelette with seared chicken sausage - potato resti, creamed spinach and heirloom tomatoes
Fried egg and beef rasher breakfast bagel - tomato relish, cheese and mustard
Mixed berry super bowl with almond milk - pumpkin seeds and pineapple
Blueberry pancakes with maple syrup - honey ricotta and fresh berries
Wines and spirits are unchanged from what they are offering right now.

Many ex-North American QR flights have a tapas dish in lieu of a mezze. Ive only once tried it ex-JFK and itwasnt good, at all. But perhaps the ex-YUL version could be better? One thing that is striking is the lack of a middle eastern or south Asian main course.

Anything different on the pre-order menu?

And those tapas are about Spanish sounding as my left sock, which is not Spanish in the slightest.

- The descriptiosn are overly adventurous and very often oversell.
- The dish itself is a poor rendition of what the intent was when someone cooked up the idea
- QR attempts to pick dishes from cuisines that are very hard to pull off as airline catering and end up falling short

Honestly I've never seen any of the mains on a QR menu before. I was planning to order whatever middle eastern option they had assuming there'd be one. They all sound 7/10 so might just roll the dice and take whatever is left on the day. While I love risotto, I've seen some 'risottos' in these threads that are shocking. Surf and turf is nice but boring. And I love snapper and shellfish but highly skeptical of YUL's catering being able to pull it off.

Sounds like a solid idea. Also, don't forget, it's primarily transportation, not a restaurant. I fly QR long haul a lot, and while I have definitely found some of the catering choices better than others, I've never had anything which I found to be repulsive or inedible.

Im guessing this is ex-JFK (QR has had this same menu on that route for years now)? Ive had all of these over the years and the main variable is who the catering company is. For a while all 4 were terrible, I mean make UA Polaris meals look like 3 star fine dining. But recently theyve switched to do&co and its been *much* improved. FWIW I had the lobster post-do&co switch last month and it was quite good. I think I posted a review a few pages up (post 386).

FWIW, these are my travel companion's choices from ORD:

The tenderloin and chicken dishes are different.
