Just began a 3 night stay here. So far so good, and the lounge is very nice - great use of a CAA. Rooms are a bit dated, as noted above, but similar to the GH Tokyo, it's well taken care of and totally fine. The queen room is big by Tokyo hotel standards, so we are pleasantly surprised after suffering through a tiny room elsewhere at the start of the trip.

Had a 3 night stay in March and the lounge was amazing! Loved the food offerings, breakfast and dinner spreads were amazing. We came from a stay at Park Hyatt Kyoto to Grand Hyatt Fukuoka and even though the rooms were dated, we still had an amazing time. We used a SUA and paid the cash rate which ended up being around $485 for 3 nights (and had an Amex offer for $50 off which made it sweeter!). Management left fruits in the room everyday and even the white strawberries on our last night!

Used some free night certificates. Upgraded to a deluxe on the 12th floor, but was told at check in if I took the upgrade, no late checkout. That was fine for my needs.
The room had a distinct stale smoke smell, despite being non-smoking. I guess it was pretty ingrained. Dated but clean.
Lounge is good and it was nice to have the spa facilities

Some pics from our recent stay. Overall had a great stay! Had booked multiple rooms. Used a SUA and also got comp upgraded for a double double room.
Service and lounge were top class. Family really enjoyed our vacation and stay at the GH Fukuoka

I also finished a recent eight night stay - which is my 4th stay since the club revamp. Sadly this hotel has defeated my inner cynic. I had really assumed by now that the club standards would have dropped but it is still going strong. Quality of offerings, staff service, ambience - everything is perfect. I guess technically the only notable minor downgrade is that pancakes, french toast etc use to be made fresh to order as opposed to sitting on the buffet. However that is really a trivial manner.
For something different also tried lunch at the main hotel restaurant - not surprisingly it was also of a very high quality - and reasonably priced.
Also given a drink voucher for the bar downstairs but didn't end up using it.
Also thanks to flyertalk - knowing you can get the room windows unlocked is a game charger. Really helps with the often musty smell and makes controlling the room temperature easier.

We last stayed here in 2018 and the club rooms then stank horribly of cigarette smoke.
I'm hoping time means the smells have dissipated. All the suites used to be smoking so I was warned to stay away from them, but seems some of you have been staying in them.
So has time healed this? I doubt they've torn apart the rooms to replace everything which is the other way to get ride of smoke smell.
We're going back in December, the hotel just says they'll make sure I'm not on the 6th floor since that's where a smoking lounge is.

Regarding the musty/old-smoke smell, I found that running the air purifier in the room continuously helped a lot. I did try another room but it was the same smell as our first room so I went back to the original. I was only in the room for sleeping so it worked out OK but less than ideal. I spent a lot of time hanging out in the club instead of the room, which was a nice mitigation.

Last year I booked and checked in as a glob and was put in a regular room that was small, stuffy and had the smoke smell.
I had to go down to the front desk to see if they can exchange rooms, I hate using my globalist status to ask for better but this is one of those times where it would've ruined my trip (well not me, my gf complained a ton).
We were moved into a bigger room and didn't have that smoke scent.
This year, I've booked into an Executive Twin Suite, has anyone experienced if these suites have that smoke smell as well? Not looking to ask for a room change again, but if I need to bring something to help clear the air I would like to know ahead of time.

I'm thinking of staying here later this year. Is the breakfast for globalists in the lounge only? Is the breakfast at the main restaurant better than the lounge? My wife is sensitive to smoke, are the regular non suite rooms generally odor free? Thanks.

I haven't really had any problems here with smoke smell in rooms in years. Suites used to be smoking, but that was a long time ago. I'm more annoyed by the high humidity in the rooms (get the windows unlocked, see upthread). In any case this is nothing like say GH Macau, where you're pretty much guaranteed fresh smoke coming in from neighboring rooms and hallways.
Breakfast at the lounge is top notch here. I prefer it to most restaurant breakfasts. The standard is lounge breakfasts for Globs, but I have a friend who's a regular and can eat in the restaurant. He took me a couple times, and I didn't find it preferable to the lounge.
