Agreed. The security check at JFK T1 is horrible with or without an escort. It's a complete zoo and the reason TSA probably enforces the rule there is because if people were allowed more bags it would delay things even more. That terminal / security lanes are not built for the traffic that's going through it.

Yes they sent me the list. But it’s just a bunch of different facials and one small section with body treatments for women.
I asked and apparently they do not offer any body treatments for men in the LP lounge.

So I guess it depends on the therapist. I must say I think the facial offers a better value than the back massage.

Hmmm; I got a back massage fairly recently (I am male, btw). I had an allergy in one of my eyes and a facial wouldn't be possible. I asked the therapist if I could have a back/shoulder massage and she just asked for 5 minutes to set the table for the back massage.
So I guess it depends on the therapist. I must say I think the facial offers a better value than the back massage.

I am not sure if this was discussed here previously, but I can’t seem to find anything about it.
As a reminder,
Passengers flying in La Premiere out of GRU have the option to add the private terminal experience for a reduced fee.
This works like an add-on to your original journey. You simply have to call the La Premiere number to request it.
The normal cost is 517 euros, but AF offers it for 20% less, so I guess around 414 euros.
At the private terminal (called BTG Terminal), you have a dedicated concierge, check-in and baggage drop-off with no lines, private security screening and immigration, gourmet food, cocktail bar, and private transportation between the terminal and the aircraft.
Honestly, the price might be high for a ground experience add-on but relatively to the cost of the ticket, it’s really not.
And when you know how « meh … » can the experience be on the ground at GRU (with that lounge corner, that is not particularly great), this really elevates the experience to something almost similar to what you get in CDG.

Not yet, I was actually surprised to only find out today that AF offered reduced pricing access to the private terminal when flying LP, by looking at a GRU catering document.
However from the many videos and images I found online, the private terminal, although quite small, looks absolutely stunning.

You can also visualise it more in the following Instagram posts :

The food looks delicious and the lounge looks great. I think for 414 euros, it seems really worth it.
The type of car used for transfer to the aircraft seems to be Volvo XC90 SUV.
It looks like you can also have a private entire room (in the style of what AF offers at the new LP check-in area in CDG, however I believe it's more a living room than a bedroom), but that comes with an additional cost of 1600 euros (so around the same cost as what if offered in CDG). AF might offer 20% on that too.

I did not partake in the food options and just had a coffee. But the folks in the terminal were selling it high, as “Michelin quality”.
It is a very smooth process. There are two dedicated channels: one for domestic flights and one for international, at either side of the terminal. All cars are Volvo XC60 indeed.
I will also test the arrival service in about a month from now, which to be is more value added, especially with the new time of AF’s LP-equipped flight, which gets in the peak arrival hours and behind a dozen earlier flights …
For arrivals, the only downside is that 100% of the luggage is inspected by customs via X-ray. So beware if you are bringing items that exceed the value quota or food that might not be allowed in.
Don’t have a lot of pictures as this was a business trip and I had other people with me.
By the way, you can book directly with the terminal using the AF discount. That’s how I booked my upcoming arrival service.

Interesting to hear about the helicopter service.
I used it frequently before it was ended during Covid. Who is the company now operating it? At the time it was affiliated with Airbus, and they ran this in Mexico and Săo Paulo.
