Opodo fees

I just tried booking a BA flight on opodo and discovered they charge a £10 fee (for 2 pax). Seems a bit strange, when you can book on ba.com and not pay the fee. Is this new?

Expedia have been doing this for a while (£5 per person non-refundable booking fee even on fully flex premium tickets)... I hadn't notcied this on opodo, was it premium too? or economy?

I think it's called BA cutting commissions to travel agents (which Opodo and Expedia are at the end of the day) and they try and recoop this via a service charge.

That said, if you're getting J/F for a snip via LIS, it's peanuts compared to the Rip-Off Britian price if booked ex-UK.

I disagree with UK being a rip off. Ok, so fares out if Lisbon on BA are cheaper, but thats hardly surprising since there is a need to fly via the UK rather than be able to fly directly to the destination.

Look at a lot of fares available out of the UK; Ihave managed to get Business class returns from Uk to Australia for around £2k which is pretty decent. N class return to Sydney is around with BA/QF at £470+tax. Hardly rip off fares

Travelocity have started adding a £6 service charge for their fares

I booked econ LH from LHR BUD on LH website cheaper than travelocity!

I dont know how long they have been adding this surcharge, but I havent noticed it before now

The kanga and east coast US routes do tend to be the exception, Dave.
