I think it's called BA cutting commissions to travel agents (which Opodo and Expedia are at the end of the day) and they try and recoop this via a service charge.

That said, if you're getting J/F for a snip via LIS, it's peanuts compared to the Rip-Off Britian price if booked ex-UK.
