Hi -
Even if they only save $.05 to $.10 per package by swapping in pretzels for biscoff, that is $10-$20 per flight. Even at the lower end, over the course of a year, that starts to add up.
The reality is that doing stagflationary times (and we are only 1/3 through this current one in my estimation), with costs rising faster than GDP growth in the service sector, the only alternative is to trim expenses anywhere possible. You wil see this across all sectors of the economy.. In Business Class, the amenity kits get cheapened. Champagne becomes Sparkling wine. French Red becomes Chilean Red. All while the cost of the ticket has climbed at least 50%.
I make the same travel calculus. I used to fly Alaska up and down the West Coast. Now I fly Frontier. I used to Uber everywhere. Now I take public transportation when feasible.

I flew SEA-LAS two days ago. They had 'em then. Maybe they stopped serving them briefly due to "supply chain disruptions".
Biscoff has some cream cookies that I've purchased in grocery stores. I wish they had 'em on Alaska. They're pretty good!

As for Biscoffs - or their lack thereof - if I flew regularly enough, I'd just buy a big package of them and baggie up a half dozen or so for my weekly trips.

Hi -
I am just saying that airlines are cutting service levels.
And I would agree with you, but ...
For $40 I got F9 Gold. Free carry on and free seat assignment. I don't check bags; if I did, I would get the credit card which now comes with free bags.
Anytime I want additional space, I can get a guaranteed middle seat open.
YMMV of course, but F9 is coming in at 1/3 the price of AS. At some point it matters.
Hell, I even spent $299 for a go wild pass. I have already had 3 RT for $30 RT each.

Good points all, Orwaid. I last flew Frontier two years ago. There was a couple of upcharges from the initial fare, but I managed to get a seat in the front of the A320Neo. I don't recall if there was an empty seat next to me. I do remember thinking that the seat was not very comfortable, mainly due to its design which felt hard and stiff. The service was acceptable, what of it there was.

The above link was from the year I flew them. I understand they've retained their lowest ranking in 2024.
Frontier serves some routes off the beaten path like Denver to Lafayette, LA. nonstop, and occasionally it makes sense to fly them. On those routes where they compete with Alaska though, I'm happy to pay more for Alaska's nicer service. Of course, it helps that I'm a 100K Million Miler as well.
But that's me. Clearly, Frontier works well for you, so enjoy the savings and Happy Contrails =========>

They're giving them away this morning at the Grand Floral Parade in downtown Portland...along with plush Alaska Airlines aircraft.

Got to Biscoffs this morning on BOS-SEA. The 75k chocolate wasn't my favorite variety though.

Friends don't let friends...
Back on track; there is always a plethora in the ANC Alaska Lounge.
And... there is typically a stash in the aft overhead compartment on mainline aircraft. Sleeves of them
