so was surprised that the box came with a label of ‘chicken fried rice’. Opening the box, the meal was as described - fried egg on top of the rice with vegetables, but also chicken. Suffice it to say, we couldn’t let her have it - I gave my pre-order (veg oriental - jap Chae - which to be fair she did like) to her. Maybe my American background misinterpreted something different from Asian cultural norm - but it seems to me if the description specifies egg fried rice, vs. something like Chicken and egg fried rice, and chicken not even the description - it wouldn’t have contained it. Was this potentially mis-catered, or is this probably the normal for this dish?

again, I realize this was not specifically listed as a vegetarian choice, but description above, to my eye, seemed like it would at least not have contained pieces of chicken. Wondering if this is worth a piece of feedback to SQ?
no experience with child special meals, but sq usually lists the main ingredients used in the food, so probably not normal. if your kid is a strict vegetarian, then i would advise to order a vegetarian choice, as it is possible that some meat products such as chicken seasoning powder, oyster sauce are used even if there isnt any actual meat in the dish. in any case, no harm giving sq a feedback, maybe leave out the vegetarian part and just say you specifically chose that because your kid doesnt eat chicken

Fwiw, the online description of the meal says:

Child Meal Asian (CHMLA) Suitable for children between the ages of two and below 12 years old, this meal features an Asian-style main course and may contain chicken, fish, noodles, vegetables, chocolate, crisps, crackers, milk and dairy products, fruit and fruit juices.

I'm 135 miles short for KF Gold requalification (31 May cutoff). I have an ANA C KEF-FRA-HND-MMY-HND-FRA-KEF 12 APR - 9 MAY, so I could easily make it, but I'd only get 125% RDM credited to SQ, vs 300% RDM credited to UA, and KF doesn't roll over so it's really mostly about maximizing RDM above requalification.

Is there any easy way to get 135 miles remotely? I guess I could order duty free in Singapore to a friend? Another option is buying an intra-Asia Star Alliance flight and crediting that. It's about $200-300 difference in RDM value so not worth a huge amount of effort but I like optimizing.

Yes. But you need to set them up as a redemption nominee first. You can have a maximum of 5 nominees. Once a nominee is added they cannot be removed for 6 months. Unless you are KF Gold or PPS, there is also a fee associated with the removal.

Oh okay? Is that some kind of fraud protection? Thought I could just put the name of wife + mother on the ticket and that's it. Weird , but thanks for the info

Don't credit the flights to any program.

Then, do a retro-credit for the shortest/least earning flight segment with SQ, and credit the other segments to whatever other program you want.

I'm travelling BNE to LHR (via SIN) later in the year. The legs are on separate PNRs (business class) with about 9 hour layover (both saver booked through points). Is there a possibility that Singapore Airlines will interline my luggage? It's not a big deal - just looking to set my expectations pre check-in.

It will not be an issue. SQ have always been very agreeable to interlining. I've even seen it happen outside *A connections. SQ to SQ, easy.(I am assuming SQ to SQ.)

Indeed...I have had some fun things happen on SQ, like going from SQ J BKK-SIN, to BA J SIN-LHR-BER (arrival in SIN at lunch and onward BA connection towards midnight, separate PNRs), with luggage interlined to final destination in BER and to top it off, SQ even honoring my higher BA OWE luggage allowance in BKK as I was maxing out on the weight (ie. 96kg on BA vs. 80kg on SQ for the SIN-BKK flight)!

For Y to J upgrades on short flights to Malaysia / Indonesia, does anyone know the points cost? On the website the calculator returns and error and says that one needs to call in for a price
