Welcome to The Wing-let - a lounge to discuss any topics.
This is a place for newbie questions, any topics semi-related to Cathay Pacific, where everyone is welcome to ask and discuss.
No question is too stupid, nothing is taken for granted, and anything about Cathay Pacific you were afraid to ask elsewhere, or weren't sure where to ask, you can ask here. Feel free to post here without fear of retribution for not using search.
As with the rest of FlyerTalk, discussions here should be constructive, courteous without aggression or personal attacks.
If anyone feels a good topic is posted here that should be broken out into a separate thread, please use the red triangle to report the post, and it will be considered for its own thread.

One of CX's agents told a customer to sort out their AM account via FT!?
That's the most hilarious thing I've heard this year on this forum

Our beloved ambassador percysmith you better get your act together and pick up after CX's mess!

sorry but the posts above were pure comedy

*******
On a more serious note, for tanakaroy :
This is FlyerTalk, a forum composed of frequent flyers and flying enthusiasts, and is not affiliated with any airline in any way.
Granted, lots of ppl here know more about CX than most of their agents, but unfortunately we are in no power to sort out your account & you have to go through the official channel (as others have provided above).
Regardless, wish it goes well for you, and, as the airline used to announce, "now sit back, relax, and enjoy the Cathay service"

Green mid tier lounge pass question.
*Travel companions for Lounge Passes are passengers travelling with you on the same booking or flying on the same date with the same origin and destination.
P1 (myself): as SL flying YVR-HKG (transit only)-MEL
P2: on a separate booking flying HKG-MEL on the same date and flight
Would I be able to claim the lounge pass for my travel companion to be used in HKG? I am not sure what CX's definition is for "same origin" in this case. Thanks.

Hey guys, i got a question about lounge acces in HKG.
Im flying in CX F from LHR-HKG on an awardticket, which ends in HKG. Im planning to travel further on another ticket in economy to Taipei but with CX. I was wondering if I got lounge acces (CX first class lounge) with my LHR-HKG ticket, although my onward travel is in economy and a separate booking. Is that possible?

I disagree. I don't think it requires the two flights to be on the same ticket or reservation. What is required is that the second flight be within 24 hours of the first. Oneworld rules also apply and say the same:
Connecting between oneworld marketed and operated flights: First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 06:00am the following day, can access the lounge when travelling between an international long haul (a oneworld international long haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by any oneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than 5 hours) and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa).Lounge access will be determined on the international long haul ticketed flight (either First of Business Class) regardless of the ticketed class of travel on the international short haul or domestic flight. You must be prepared to show your boarding pass for travel in First or Business class on the international long haul flight, in order to access the lounge before your international short haul or domestic flight.

No, it probably wasn't an error. Read your own quote above about "before 6am" (pasted below), what am I missing? I don't think CX has any flights before 6am. Thus, no entitlement for second day flight.
From your quote:
"First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 06:00am the following day"
I don't see where it says anything about 24 hours? It says "same day" and adds the part about up to 6am the next day. It's clearly designed for same day connections (including those which depart after midnight as many do) but not for overnight connections.

The Cathay rules say:
A "stopover" is well-defined as a break of more than 24 hours between flights. So the only grounds on which the person cxwaterboy referred to being refused would be on the semantics of "within the same journey". What makes it a different journey? Different ticket? Different reservation? Midnight (or 6am as per OW rules) between the two flights?
If you're travelling on Cathay Pacific operated flights in different cabin classes within the same journey, you can enjoy lounge access if at least one sector of your journey is booked in First or Business class, and your connection is within 24 hours.
We will honour the highest class of travel for lounge entitlement throughout the same journey to ensure maximum comfort. In cases where the journey includes a stopover, lounge entitlement will be honoured based on individual sectors.

Just a sanity check. Im scheduled to fly CX J arriving at HKG around 9pm with onward ticket in CX F the next day (8am). Im planning to stay airside during the transit. Is it correct that I can access F lounge when I arrive (9pm until closing) under CX rules?

cxwaterboy one ticket or two? If one, does appear to be contradicting CX's own rules.
