Seems like it is about time to hear about a Q1 promotion.

If Marriott does a Q1 promo, we probably wont hear about it for another month at least with a starting date of mid February.

I might go back to Doha for a short winter sun break in February but I’m waiting on news of the 2x promo before booking anything (the first week of Feb is preferable for me but iirc this promo sometimes starts a bit later).

Last one announced 30 Jan 24 with the stay period being 13 February 2024 and 29 April 2024.

The end date is what I am hoping for as all my pay bonvoy nights in 2025 right now are in April with the last night Check Out on April 30. My flight departs at 1:30am May 1st. Hence no need for hotel stay on Apr 30 night.
I cannot remember it is based on Check In or Check Out. Seems each year there are questions on when is the cut off date.

I think it's time that people started recognising that "global promotions" are going to be rare events. 1 or 2 a year, with a lucky few members getting targeted promos.

I generally only recall getting two global promos a year, the Q1 promo and the Q3 promo. But given OP is asking about the seemingly annual Q1 promo that shows up in late January like clockwork, this still seems like a reasonable question.

They will come when they come if they come and then we will see what they are...from my POV they have definitely been watered down over the years to the point where they are a big YAWN when they are presented...right up there with the NUA experience. What we need is a great travel recession that drops occupancy back down into the 60's at which point Marriott and other chains will start to value frequent guests again...until then...they don't need us and they show it at every opportunity.

The Q1 2x nights promo is actually a pretty big deal for those of us who don't yet have lifetime status. The Q3 promo tends to be quite meh - last year I didn't book a single stay at any Marriott property during the Q3 promo period.

There was a Q3 promo? I know of the Q1 as several business trips happened to align during the period massively contributing to me easily reaching platinum.

Do you know if it will count if we book a stay before the promo registration date but the stay occurs within the promo window? I already have some hotels booked for March and I'm hoping they will count.

Usually stays booked before the promotion registration date but occurring within the promotion window, and after registration, count for Marriott promotions.
