Am I alone in being manacled to BA through a lifetime's Avios collection? I currently have 4.2m Avios, so am effectively committed to future travel with BA if I am to get any meaningful value from the Avios.
For me this is an effective devaluation of my Avios as I will have to travel CE and use 2x the Avios I previously paid for ET, to get the benefits that my status previously gave me and very little else.

Yep, had a good few years of Silver when I was working and travelling in economy. I did think that with what Ive already got booked and planned for 2025, that with a cheeky ex-Dub to Washington, I could make Gold for the first time ever and have a year of the First Wing and front row seats on the A320 fleet.
Thats clearly not going to happen now. Ill still fly BA in CE if the schedule/price suits me but Ill be flying other airlines more from now on; not that BA will give a to$$ about losing my coin but if everyone else is doing likewise, surely that will have an impact on their revenue?
On a positive note, Im seeing posts in this thread from people I never even knew existed 😉

Most likely Ill be swapping BAEC for easyJet Plus. BA Premium Amex will go in the bin. 2-4-1 vouchers and Avios will be spent.
No more chasing status because my spend will not make Silver. Ill fly the most convenient/direct route now rather than preferring to hop through Heathrow to collect TPs. Truth be told itll probably make travel more simple and Ill spend less. I might even try KLM when needing a connection.
The BA offering from Belfast has been diluted to now no better than easyJet. With easyJet+; same lounge, same fast track security, same cabin bags, priority boarding and free seat selection. Probably also able to purchase two seats cheaper than Club Europe on most days
Bold move by an airline still flying decades old premium products and whose hard and soft product offerings are consistently inconsistent.

The problem with this is that it doesn't offer me any certainty.
At the moment, I know exactly how many flights (and, thus, tier points) I need to retain GGL, and I can plan ahead where necessary.
I'm not going to bother aiming for 40k spend (nor 20k in all likelihood), so random bonuses will be of zero interest to me because of their likely sporadic nature. Of course, all conjecture!

For what it's worth, somewhere else on the web made a comment about Royal Jordanian.
I had a look at their programme and their flight calculator shows the earning on the other alliance airlines. Based on my travel, that's really going to work for me to get my Sapphire or Emerald status.
I don't really care about the Avios - the lounge access and check-in at the business class desks are what I value and all I need is status with whatever oneworld airline has it easiest and it looks like RJ is the go to for this at this point, unless anyone has a better idea.

I'm just hoping that this is all a complete smokescreen - I'm sure we were told that there would be a whole new digital platform and experience by the end of 2024 - so far it seems to be the old clunky broken one for me - distract everyone and they won't notice

I’ve been a loyal member of the British Airways Executive Club for many years, but the recent changes make it clear that other programs and airlines may be more deserving of my business. The rebranding to "The British Airways Club" feels like a complete departure from the airline’s rich heritage. Dropping the longstanding "Executive" from the name is puzzling—wasn’t that one of the aspects that gave the program its prestige and exclusivity?
The new card design really doesn’t help either. It’s not just uninspired; it’s unrecognizable as premium. It wouldn’t look out of place on a budget airline. Honestly, at first glance, I thought it was a Nectar card. The font size and alignment is just terrible. Remember when BA was about champagne and Concorde? Where’s the pride in BA’s legacy? It feels like change for the sake of change.
And then there’s the new spend-based Tier Point system. So, loyalty is out, and pure spending is in? Great news for those flying First on someone else’s corporate account, but for people such as myself who’ve shown up year after year, even on discounted fares, it feels like BA just said, “Thanks for your support, but we’re moving on.” This is a big mistake, and I feel my loyalty in flying oneworld over Star Alliance has been completely disincentivized. BA doesn’t go everywhere I need, so I rely on oneworld partners to fill the gaps. To now be penalized because BA lacks insight into that revenue is frankly terrible. Frequent flyers don’t just travel on BA—they travel on oneworld as a whole. What I woudl like to see is that the OW are credited all at a standard 100% - this would be a welcome concession from BA, but unless this is done, I will need to reconsider my loyalty program
