Am I alone in being manacled to BA through a lifetime's Avios collection? I currently have 4.2m Avios, so am effectively committed to future travel with BA if I am to get any meaningful value from the Avios.

For me this is an effective devaluation of my Avios as I will have to travel CE and use 2x the Avios I previously paid for ET, to get the benefits that my status previously gave me and very little else.
