My general impression is that following the end of AAB's reign of fear and control, crew are now a lot more relaxed - this seems to have manifested in both positives (crew seem much more "human" and willing to let more of their personality show) and negatives (more variability in standard, some crew visibly not that bothered about providing good service, etc).

The Trolley I had last year Europe>Doh. When I ask, it was explained they will do it on a full flight, when after taking the orders it becomes clear that the majority of pax will eat at the same time (after take off)

Did one of those a few days back and no trolley. Doing it back to DOH in a few days, will report.

I have most likely seen a trolly perhaps once, 300k+ miles with QR.

Sure I think Europe is down prioritized by QR for sure but this is not the norm. I think this can be ok if everyone wants to dine at the same time, very unlikely but can happened if PAX are low. The whole idea about dining on demand sort of implies you are being served on an individual basis.

The bowl might be due to turbulence, otherwise I get it.

I am reliably informed my 98th QR F/J flight is next week and I have also never seen a trolley…

I’m fairly sure there wouldn’t be enough space in a Qsuites cabin at least given how narrow the aisles are.

Ive seen trolleys being used on all my 789 flights. The photo above looks like an old config 359. Using a trolley on that config would make sense for the same reasons they use a trolley on a 789: a large J cabin with only a single galley in the front.

Noticed on Saturday that my after takeoff nuts weren't warmed. Same on a flight last night, so asked the crew.. the new service standard is no warm nuts. Although bless her, the FA offered to warm them up for me.

How the mighty have fallen. (Sarcasm!)

I experienced the same on two very recent flights. I preferred them cold and never considered asking that they be warmed.

I prefer them warm, but it might be psychological.

Ive seen the trolley used on a number of A380 flights to set the place settings (the meals are then delivered by hand from the galley as per normal). I havent yet been on a B789 flight, but have seen reports of the same for busy flights.

Ive had bad luck for my A380 flights since the pandemic, I consistently get thrown out of my seat and out of business class, so Ive not seen this. >

I think its rather smart to use a trolley for place settings on rhe 789/old 359/388 since theres only a single galley and a large J cabin. I dont think it materially makes the service worse, and arguably improves it. So imho the trolley isnt any sort of indicator of a QR downward spiral.

Huh? I don't understand. You're consistently downgraded?

I've consistently gotten the dreaded beep at the gate mostly, and had to suffer further up front.

Re: all the mattress pads talk:

Mattress pads were available on QR818 DOH-HKG 9th Nov 2024, on an ex-Cathay 777 in J.
