Discussion of the discontinued Sears MasterCards which earn ThankYou Points has been moved to a separate thread, HERE.

Application link for the Shop Your Way (SYW) MasterCard is HERE.

Accumulating points, expiration, and redemptions:
You can accumulate SYW points in some of the following methods:
  • Bonus offers sent to your email (ie: Spend $750 on Online and get 200,000 SYW Bonus points)
  • Regular spend - categories: 5% in gas, 3% in grocery/restaurants, 2% in SYW Merchants, 1% everywhere else
  • "Missions" in the SYW App (iPhone/Android)
Expiration of points:
Not all points have the same expiration timeframe. Some bonus/incentive points expire in 30 days or less. Most are 1 year. You can check in the SYW app, or the shopyourway.com website. Make sure to redeem the points before they expire!!!!

Redemptions:
You can only redeem $200 worth per day. So if you redeem for a $200 GC, you have to wait until the next day to make another redemption of any amount.

Credit Line Increases
This is very odd, but according to the Chatbot on the website:
Q. When requesting a credit limit increase, is the credit inquiry a hard or soft credit inquiry?
A. Unfortunately, until we process the request, there isn't a way for us to know if a credit line increase request will be a soft or hard hit on your credit report. For this reason, we have to receive your permission to pull a copy of your credit report before we process the increase request. If you process the request online, you will see a message stating "By submitting this form, you authorize Citibank, N.A. to obtain your credit report."

To request an increase online:
In order to request an increase, you will need to go to your Credit Home page, and find Available Credit at the top of the page. Then, click on the link that says Request Increase to begin the process.

Probably too early. Could be as late as around midnight on the 19th if the pattern holds.

Yep, agree. I haven't received mine yet, expecting it maybe 4/16 - 4/22.

Interesting. I just checked and my SYW member numbers and points balances are the same in both places.

My $225 SUB was a statement credit. If you spent the $1500 on the general 1% category then yes you will have a 15k points balance (worth $15), but this is in addition to the statement credit. Credit might post at statement close, can't recall.

You should contact SYW support, not Citi. I remember reading they can combine the SYW points and fix the account for you. [email protected]

Same email buried in the Shop Your Way site I had to contact to fix my account when I got locked out somehow.

Got a progress email for a spend $X online get $X when I already completed the requirements and got my credit 🤷🏻‍♂️

the SYW SUB should appear as a statement credit. You do get SYW points in addition to the SUB

for SYW you get statement credits and SYW points.
Not sure if TYP gets both statement credits and TYP points or just TYP points

TYP is better than SYW imo since you can get cash back where as all us new SYW can only redeem our points for gift cards

Yes, but you only earn 1x. All of my spend is in 3x and 5x categories, at least for the first $10k. So an extra $200-$400 in gift cards per year is worth dealing with the hassle, for me at least. Of course if you're getting all TYP offers and redeeming for travel that's a whole other game that swings it in TYP favor, but I'm pretty focused on cash back at this point.

$50 credit posted today, for $300 charge made on April 3. So new theory is it checks every Friday for this one and the 5% back on $400+ offer (last month for it, and havent spent that much yet so no credit).

There is not a single other card that can give me 10% in grocery, gas, and restaurant for a whole year as long as meet the min spending of $500 every month.
Wait...
Are these uncapped?

Well done! Are you TYP or SYW? (or something else I don't know about xD)

EDIT: I read up and it looks like TYP.

What's the best way to contact Shop Your Way CS for missing Febraury credits for GGR spend(spend 1500, get 10% back offer). Generally they post automatically but this was missed.

Other promotions for same time period posted except the GGR one.

I think I've only ever just called them. I *may* have chatted once, but I'm not 100% sure on that one (meaning login to the website, etc.)

Not sure how often they change up the redemption options (only have been redeeming for ~6 months), but I just went today to redeem for American Airlines gift cards, which I have in the past, and it seems to no longer be an option, along with all other airlines

Just a general FYI (and question if anyone knows if this happened in the past/if there's hope they'll be back at some point)

I know when SYW started morphing from the Sears points program into its own thing a while ago they initially had Apple gift cards, then removed them, then they brought them back again later. Hopefully its just a temporary thing.
