If you fail at a regular register, its better to just tell them to cancel and walk away.
Waiting for a manager to show up is not good for long term business

Tip # 2 for long term business

Quit trying complex transactions - stick to single swipe $500 loads

Yup. The regular cashiers refuse to load at checkout. There's one store with one cashier I avoid. Other than that, they are more than happy to help/take as many swipes as I ask for.

I tried loading to discover with a MCGC from Staples and it didn't work for the $200.

Will non BHN cards load to Discover checking for the full amount?

Anyone know what instructions to give a rep who doesn't know how to split payment? E.g. want to load $1000 and do it as $500 + $500.

Would someone be so kind as to clarify this point from the wiki?
"7 individual loads per rolling 7 days."
If I load $200 onto my card 3 times (enter my DC and load $200, enter my DC and load $200, enter my DC and load $200) does that count as 3 of my 7 loads for the 7 day period?
Yesterday I tried to load $200 and the machine was spitting out a debit card error message. I don't know if it was the card (I tried 2 different cards), bad machine (this terminal has given me problems before) or too many loads in the 7 day window.
I'm just hoping it's not the actual card itself (Everywhere type)
Thanks

get another discover checking account if you have P2. So you will never face the load limit.

I just got Discover checking and I tried to load a SecureSpend VGC and it didnt work. The cashier didnt seem to know what she was doing but it looked like the above. I had tried to use the SS VGC at the Money Center to buy a MO and it didnt go through. I think the WM in my area have hard cored their machines and now I cant use SS VGC.

Well that's discouraging to hear. Please report back. Is yours the SecureSpend that comes in black packaging and has $5.95 activation fee?
