UA pulled the ONLY RNO-ORD flights the week after Labor Day. (AA and WN were no longer offering the ones they had in the before times)
Got rebooked RNO-SFO-ORD (and asking me to pay again for E+ on the RNO-SFO leg). My tolerance for sitting around SFO for a couple hours is a lot lower than it was three years ago, or even six months ago when mask mandates were in place, so still evaluating options...
How likely is it that they will also pull the ORD-RNO non-stop three weeks from now?
Current buckets are: J3 JN3 C2 D1 Z1 ZN1 P1 PN0 PZ0 IN0 I0 Y9 YN9 B9 M9 E9 U9 H9 HN1 Q9 V1 W1 S1 T1 L1 K1 G1 N9 XN0 X0

As I was leaving Spain earlier, I noticed a schedule change for a September itinerary that had just happened....LH dropped my intra-Europe connecting flight from their schedule. I figured I'll deal with it when I get home.
Well I'm home now and UA already re-booked me, except whatever or whoever rebooked me might not understand time zones? I leave the US on a Friday, arriving into FRA on Saturday morning. The new LH flight they put on my itinerary also leaves on Friday. I have, per United.com, a -9h -55m connection time.

Don't worry about that. Just call and tell them the flights you want. The sooner you call, the better, because flights will fill up.

So I called to get moved to the flights that would work (it involved LX via ZRH) and United refused to make the change because 'the same fare class is not available'. Even though this is an involuntary change. They told me I could try to contact LH myself to change it. :/

Thanks, the chat/text feature worked out well. Told them what I needed, took them a few minutes to re-ticket manually, and all done without any questions, pushback, or need for another call.

Too many new, untrained agents nowadays but I find a little gentle pushback and suggestions, things can still be done. But woe those that don't know what can / should be done.

It can be a bit frustrating, but I've run into this at times with AA and DL over the years too. Any time partners get involved, some agents get confused (or aren't empowered, not sure which). Absolutely yes to your second sentence, important to know the rules so you can (politely) push for what is permitted.

Noticed a schedule change on the second segment of HNL-EWR-YUL in September, booked in P. Instead of waiting 3 hours at EWR, now it's 8.5 hours on United Express. There is an earlier flight on AC, could I request that change or no?

I assume you mean an 8.5 hour layover? I don't think any UX plane can fly for 8.5 hours. You can always request it, but it'll depend on the agent to see if you actually get it.

The change from UA to AC is a little trickier, easier if a codeshare. But if not, still worth a request, it is within agent's / supervisor's discretion.

If it is a true P fare vs. a YUP fare it should not be a problem at all.

I know it's fairly insignificant in the context of a 13-14 hour flight, but increasing the block time by 35 minutes is quite interesting. Did UA revise their assumption of average headwinds or something?
