Don’t forget the 24 different types of bottled water to take away…

But no ducks

I'm guessing the FCT will re-open around July 1st to coincide with the resumption of F service to the US.

Traveling F today Frankfurt to Mexico City. Contrary to what the website says there is no ability to access the open First lounge! I am beyond upset as I never would have booked LH with a 5 hour connection had I known I would just end up in the business lounge. Really terrible experience all day so far-flying out of Belgrade in C LH only catered a meal for one of the three passengers. As we were boarding and scanned my card they indicated they had no meal for me-why could they say this at the check in counter???? Remote gate of course (how is this possible with the lack of so many flights??) and while I understand there are no F transfers why no separate bus or car for business class cabin customers????

In Frankfurt lots of angry guests, huge line to get in to the business lounge. Only the standard sandwich and drink for take away (I couldn't even make myself look in detail as it looked so pathetic) I reviewed their website and found this statement on the LH website the F lounge was "once again open" so I was confident at being able to access an open F class lounge. I think this article is HIGHLY misleading and should indicate this is only for Schengen passengers. But also why would you ever open only a F lounge for Schengen (basically domestic) passengers??

https://www.lufthansa.com/de/en/lounges

Anyways I am done with LH for a while and I would advise anyone with the choice to connect elsewhere.

When you click on the link that you provided and choose "First Class" and "Frankfurt," the following is the result:

It's quite clear to me that the only F-lounge available is in the Schengen area. In the non-Schengen area, only the Senator Lounge B and Senator Lounge Z are listed. So, in my view, I believe that LH is clearly informing you that if you can't access the Schengen area, you'll only be able to visit two Senator lounges, not the First Class lounge and not the two Business lounges.

Totally fair that once you actually search Frankfurt and First class that is the result but I think the text of the article could be more clear. In any event, thats just my opinion that a lengthy article about the First Lounge reopening could include the few additional words that the only people who will have access are those traveling Schengen and that only one lounge location is available. Also, the supervisor I spoke with about this told me that the First Lounge has virtually the same food and beverage as the business/senator lounge. I pointed out that the article for the FCL says "High quality" and "Good selection" she agreed this was highly misleading and asked what page I found this information on (the Lufthansa home page duh!). I would not apply either of those terms to the offerings in the business/senator lounges. I would expect some alcohol to at least be available (perhaps splits of champagne or the mini bottles of wine or beer)-it is being sold at all of the outlets, why can't the lounges serve them for take away?? In any event this is all opinion and I won't be flying LH F for a while until this is all settled while LX and AF seem to have their ground services in order. I'm going to go back to enjoying the 8 EUR sandwich I bought at the outlet since the one served at the lounge was inedible almost and enjoy the rest of my three hour connection in this terrible lounge.

Completely understand your dissatisfaction, it’s not acceptable for First Class & it’s purely cost saving that FCL B is not open, obviously your day got off to a terrible start with no meal provision on your feeder flight, do fill out the online form & file a complaint.

LX only just started F&B in the lounge & there is a F area within the lounge but no F lounge, unlike AF who provide the full First Class services.

I think it is also somehow strange that they again talk about a "soon opening" of the FCT, instead of giving at least some clarity, e.g. saying the month.
It is definitely very misleading.

And I do also not understand why there is still no proper food in the FCL, as it is already allowed in the Hesse state. I am deeply unhappy of this lack of service as well. And this is not to mention the missing limo service. It would be really helpful.

LH had lot of time to plan the reopening. They could even have opened the FCT instead of FCL, and just drive the some connecting passengers airside to the FCT. There is no reason for my why this shouldnt be possible after 16 months of the pandemic....

Anyway, we have to wait and see. And as stated before, also ZRH is lacking service, especially sleeping rooms and limo transfers.

Hopefully there will be some improvements soon, not only advertising "soon openings" and 748 flights to PMI. This is really not helpful for the F and HON pax....

It is possible. They have just made the decision to delay it to save money. Very simple.

100% but it’s cheap & unacceptable, if AF can provide full First Class facilities then why not LH group ?

It’s becoming increasingly obvious they don’t care & think they can get away with it.... it takes a long time to create customers loyalty & that’s very quickly destroyed by their kind of behaviour, LH group are being incredibly shortsighted

Just wondering,
Isn't the lounges in FRA still offer to go food & beverages including the FCL in the Schengen Area?
This should be the actual issue rather than no open FCL in the Non-Schengen area.

If the lounges have to-go food & beverages; there is clearly no difference between any FCL and SEN Lounge other than the furniture and the shower tubs in the FCL.

Yes, I agree. That was my point, but said differently.

Surely the issue is, do the authorities in Frankfurt now permit F&B consumption in restaurants & lounges ?

F pax & HON paid for the appropriate lounge services, unless that’s strictly forbidden by the authorities it’s simply LH denying pax what they paid for & were originally promised

Yes, they allow it for restaurants (I just returned from a restaurant in FRA), you only have to provide documentation of vaccination or negative test results. But you have to do this for the lounge anyway, so I can not see the reason....

The really bad thing is that there will be less customers in future anyway, e.g. corporate travellers. And the travellers that are able/allowed/willing to travel at the moment are really (!) angry with LH now. I can see it from a lot of friends in music business. They are so angry that they are using other carriers at the moment, even if it takes one more stop. They do not understand why service is so much limited. They now simply fly Emirates F to Dubai instead of LH C without HON service. They book AF, Etihad, Emirates and SQ for Q3 and Q4.

What happened is that many HON simply lost confidence in the management board, after no HON service and no communication happend for about 1 year.

Because LH is the clear winner in the race to the bottom. And its fully intentionally.
